I don't understand the tactics that Johnny V and Todd employed by bringing Always Dreaming to the lead. I think he got out way too quickly and it cost him.
The way Classic Empire would beat him is by following Always Dreaming, but on the front end the way it went brought Classic Empire down.

Regarding runners who did not run in the Derby……Just three of the last 33 Preakness winners didn’t run in the Derby. The three winners are noteworthy: Rachel Alexandra, Bernardini and Red Bullet.
UPDATE: Just FOUR of the last 34 winners of Preakness winners didn't run in the Derby.
