Reminds me of when I was with my black friend in Alabama and his mom called to tell him not to stop in a certain town because blacks were not welcome there.

It amazes me this still goes on.

His mom called to ask which way we were coming back and told him to make sure he got gas and everything beforehand and to not stop in Cullman for anything. Especially since he was with a white person.

She said blacks were not welcome there and if they saw us together there would probably be hostility.

i assure you race relations are not nearly as bad as the general perception, and i feel that i wasted some luck on drawing that one out of the hat   ...didn't mean to hijack the lesbian thread

Club...the South still suffers in many ways, as you are well aware... but we have made great strides. The younger generation { 15-25 yr olds} do not care about race whatsoever. We will get there one day. Sorry, but can't comment on our neighbor to the west. I have never lived there and have rarely visited or passed thru.
