Kitty, you can't get frustrated, you can only laugh. What it comes down to is logic and reason vs I just believe because it makes me feel good and I don't want to go to a bad place when I die.

"Faith is the excuse people give for believing something when they don't have evidence."

Matt Dillahunty- Matt was raised as a fundamentalist Baptist Christian, and sought to become a Baptist minister.

A very simply explanation of our viewpoint is: There is no reason for faith. There literally is not a single good reason why any of us should have faith.

A leading physicist at Nasa once wrote:

"A horse is a horse, of course of course!"

Now - does that say a horse turned in to a monkey which turned in to a man?  NO!  It says a horse.  Not a monkey.  Not a man.

Something cannot come from nothing, and evolution is fake.  I just proved it.

You can't think of one good reason...wow! pretty sad indeed!

    1.Do you enjoy your life?

If you answer yes, go to 2nd question, if you answer no, well all I can say is... that is pretty sad indeed! and no need to continue answering questions.

    2. If you had the power to continue on living wouldn't you want to continue?

If you answer yes then continue on, if you answer no, well all I can say is.... that is pretty sad indeed! and no need to continue answering questions.

    3. Believing in Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ and obeying the Ten Commandments gives you the power to have eternal life in God's Kingdom of Heaven. Do you want it?

If you answer yes, well then start by asking Jesus to forgive you. Pray, "Lord, I thank you for paying for the sins I have committed. I give my life to you. Teach me the right way to live. Amen" Then start living a righteous life, obeying all the commandments.

If you answer no well all I can say is...that is pretty sad indeed! May God have mercy on your soul!!

So br.kitty that is one good reason to have faith, to have everlasting eternal life.

The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like total darkness. They have no idea what they are stumbling over. ---Proverbs 4:18-19

    Praise the Lord Almighty!!

I'm sorry. I apologize for not specifying that a good reason must be something that is at least likely. No one has ever come back from the dead and said "hey guys, heaven is pretty cool." There is LITERALLY NOT ONE SLIVER OF EVIDENCE OF AN AFTERLIFE (even if god exists). So I must rule that out from the potential "good reasons."

    3.  Who says?  Why should I believe you?  Why not choose one of the 5,000 other religions stating the same promise?

Your riddles are for 2nd graders.  Not even 3rd graders.  You know how I know that?  I actually just called over my 3rd grade son and asked him to read your post, with no input from me.  He looked at me when he was finished and said "that makes no sense".

    Why should you believe him?
    - Well of course, because the bible said so?
Why should we rely on the bible?
    - Because it has fulfilled prophecies
So does Harry Potter, what's the difference?
    - The bible is written by god
How do you know god wrote the bible?
    - The bible says so

No, why would anyone want to live forever What would that be like Would you continue to get older Would you live life like you do on earth If you were a baby, would you still be a baby, or if you were old, would you still be Would you be with other people who died and are in heavenWhat are you an angel that watches people on earth Think about it, live foreverWhy would I  Give me one good reason why

You're right. Your mom's friend's husband! That seals the deal. Whatever he says MUST be true. There's not other possible explanation. What was I thinking?

Silly System. Only god knows such things. God will reveal them to you in the afterlife. We shouldn't question god. Just accept that you will live forever (after you die, but wait, I thought death ends life? oh, apparently not, my bad)

In general, I find the belief in god fascinating. Maybe I'm naive since I'm probably a lot younger than the rest of you, but if someone tells me they believe in god, I immediately reassess them as a person. I just can't see how any intelligent person, who uses logic and reason, can come to any other conclusion than atheism or agnosticism. Obviously I can understand using god as a gap filler when you have a desire to have answers for everything, but I can't fathom any truly intelligent person believing in god. But that's just me.

Kitty, people believe in God because they are too arrogant to accept the fact that one day their consciousness will end. ANY loophole that will help them escape that fact,no matter how silly people will cling too.

Still waiting for a couple of my tough questions to be answered. SJD sure got quiet quickly...

Sir John Drake- what is your idea of eternal life and why would anyone or you want to live forever. I'm very interested to hear, since it sounds like a no brainer to you....

Rostos- why would "god" be so concerned in us worshipping her And no, my parents don't want me to worship them...

If anybody can answer these questions it would be great...
