StraightShooter, no one is arguing against your right to bear arms. I am absolutely in favor of our Second Amendment, as gun control just allows crime to skyrocket. But you just don't realize how destructive and foolish it is to allow civilians to have assult weapons.
And if you still think assault rifles are okay, why not let people drive around in tanks and carry hand grenades and bazookas while we are at it?

Once again:
It amazes me how ignorant the average anti-2A person is.Back in 94 they ranted and raved about how evil “assault weapons” were in order to get them banned. They couldn’t care less what the guns could actually do.They simply went after the ones that looked “evil.”
They went after AR-15’s because they looked “menacing,” but left Mini-14’s alone because they looked like hunting weapons even though they have pretty much the same capabilities.
These are the same geniuses that tried to ban pistol grips on rifles and shotguns because they claimed that pistol grips were designed to allow the shooter to fire the weapon from the hip and firing the weapon from the hip magically makes the gun more deadly.
It cracks me up how these people think “assault weapons” are death machines while other semi-automatic rifles that accept high capacity magazines are somehow less deadly simply because they don’t look as scary.
Oh, and do you know what happened after the last ban? The only thing that changed was the prices went up.That’s it.You could still get whatever you wanted; you just had to pay more for it.
You keep bitching about assault rifles. Do you even know what they are?Assault rifles are tightly regulated by the ATF and even if they give you the green light to purchase one you’re probably going to have to pay at least $10,000 for it.
I’ve also never heard of a civilian legally owned assault rifle being used to commit a violent crime in the past decade; yet you keep ranting about them.

There is no hope for SS.........he won't listen to another opinion nor answer a question. Fortunately, there is enough good in the US to overcome the likes of this twit.

The point your missing is that SS doesnt care about your kids, just like you dont really care about anyone elses kids. He simply wants the right to defend HIS kids if the occasion presents itself....
Lets not be naive here. There isnt a poster on covers that wouldnt trade a million dead children to keep their own child alive. Thats just a fact,

You refused to respond to all those posts addressed to you in other gun threads, but now you demand I answer your questions.
Sorry, chuckles. You don’t get to completely blow off questions asked of you and then demand others answer yours. You want answers to your questions?Fine.Go back and answer all those questions from other gun threads you couldn’t answer and I’d be happy to answer yours.
However, we both know you can’t defend your argument without looking like even more of a dumba$$ (if that was even possible) so you won’t.You’ll just keep trying to avoid the issue by attempting to change the subject while launching personal insults.

And I'm not saying that because I'm for it. I'm saying it because I've done extensive research on the topic and I have yet to see an intelligent argument for the prohibition of it.

The Constitution was a big part of the reason that in just 235 years the United States went from being the youngest country in the world to the most powerful country in the history of civilianization (I would throw in “the greatest” as well, but that’s a matter of opinion.“The most powerful” is not).
I think we’re doing just fine with it as is, thank you very much.
And hey, if you and your friends don’t like it feel free to throw on some red coats and come do something about it.

Busterhuron... a gun provides security. When a boy becomes of age, a responsible adult teaches his kid gun safety, and how to use them. This doesn't happen in a couple days. The parent needs to be thorough in drilling the safety practices in his head. When it's all said and done, the boy learns responsibility, and a few things about what it takes to be a man. Then, if he's home and his dad is not, and he needs to defend himself or the family from an intruder, he'll know what to do. Until he becomes of age, you learn how to store guns safely and responsibly. It's not rocket science but it is something that irresponsible people shouldn't take up. Unfortunately there are many irresponsible people out there.

lbcake... I assume you don't live in the states. Our Constitution is fine. Our Constitution is essential to the well being of this country and to the rights of our citizens. You probably shouldn't comment on topics in which you are ignorant on.

I’ll be more than happy to argue against every single argument made in every single anti-gun article you post if you’ll do the same for every pro-gun article I post.
However, I seriously doubt you’ll accept based on your past history in gun related threads.

my posts in gun related threads have been around two general topics
1) that the US should not use countries like El Salvador, Honduras, Columbia etc. as our gauge of weather gun control works or not. The US needs to have higher standards for examples.
2) I have just posted numerous links that have used statistics to suggest a relationship between gun ownership and gun related deaths. I did not come up with that concept by the way. I just posted what is well known.
I have purposely avoided putting my personal stance on the issue (although if I had to choose one way or the other I would opt for tighter restrictions) because I know it is one that is not black and white and good arguments can be made both ways.
All I have done is posted links to stats regarding this issue. Others have selectively picked and choosed which portions of links / stats they choose to agree with or not.

I’ll take that as you declining my challenge while attempting to save face.
How shocking.
And I find it amusing how you’re pretending that all your posts in gun related threads are objective and well spoken when most of the time I’ve seen you in such threads you make posts consisting of nothing but personal digs at other posters (usually with a single digit word count).
