What exciting finishes!!! especially when you are on the winning side.
I got to say, we are a bit lucky with the Columbia pick. Senegal is a better team but they did not press the win at the start ....otherwise, we might have seen a different result. I was at the edge of my seat the last 10 minutes.
I am excited as these two plays won back most of the money I lost yesterday. I am tempted to make a bet or two the next two games because it is hard to watch the game without money on it even though I love soccer a lot.
I might make 1-2 bets but they will be very small, just for entertainment purpose. I will share them around 30-45 minutes before the game start.

Top Group-G, will face Columbia and then the winner of Swiss/Sweden (top teams in this bracket would include Croatia/Spain)
2nd Group-G, will face Japan and then the winner of Brazil/Mexico (top teams in this bracket would include France, Uruguay, Portugal)
England or Belgium will probably get pass Japan.
Columbia is no cake walk. I would take Columbia over England any day and think Belgium is slightly more advantage since James status is uncertain.

Russia +1 -120
Spain is the team playing with lots of pressure. They have never beaten a host at the World Cup or European. Russia is playing with nothing to lose as they have already beat expectation. This reminds me of the match between Spain and S Korea at WC 2002.
Croatia to advance -260 ... I know this is juicy but I am making the play that I think will give me the best chance to win. I think at the end of 90 minutes, the score will be 0-0 or 1-0 (Croatia). For this 2018 tournament, the midfield plays and strong team discipline are the two most important aspects for a team to be successful. Croatia and Denmark are both excellent. Croatia is a better version with the best midfielders in the world.

I think this will be a low scoring game. I do not think Denmark will even score today.

Nice winners! Your analysis is on point. You are the only capper for soccer that I would even consider following. If anything, if we are both on the same side it makes me more confident and want to bet more. Everyone else I fade and have banked doing so. I don't know a single thing about soccer just started betting this world cup :).

Thanks for the props. I am glad we are on the same page. My main goal is to share and to learn from others (such as Van, etc) so we can beat the book together.

Brazil ML -215
Marcelo is not starting for Brazil. This is a major factor we can't ignore. Marcelo is very important to the chemistry and flow of this young Brazilian team. I still see Brazil winning this match in 90 minutes. There is still a small risk that Mexico would try to hold Brazil off and go into extra time, then PK. The problem with Mexico is that they are weak defensively both in the air and on the ground. Offensively, their best player is Hirving but he can do it alone against the solid Brazilain defense. Taking Brazil is always a square play but I can't go any other way. I have looked for the reasons to take Mexico but they are about 2 level below Brazil. It is either Brazil or nothing. I was debating between -1 and ML but I don't want to see a 1-0 result Brazil way and winning nothing.
Japan +1½ -135
There is nothing bad to say against Belgium. There are lots of good things to say about Japan. I have watched them play in all three games (not all 90 minutes for each match). Japan is playing very well as a team. They are as physical as every team in the tournament - more physical than Korean. They actually have two very good offensive players in Inui and Honda. They can really compete. The most likely scenario is Belgium winning this match by 1. Of course, the result could be ugly but I am taking my chance with the best betting option.

Sweden to advance +105
Sweden is playing with a lot more intensity and more physical. There are two thing that are concerning. (1) Switzerland finished better than Sweden. (2) Sweden was playing against 10 men Germany when the game was tie at 1-1, they decide to defense instead of going for the kill. Switzerland is suspect defensively. Now they are having two new players starting at the back. These two players, Land and Djourou, are actually very good so I do not think there is much a drop off skill wise. Nevertheless, Sweden is a better team and would win 7 out of 10 times for the same match. I am very tempted to bet Sweden -0.5 +220 but I want to avoid a tie at the end of regulation.
Colombia +½ -120
Colombia to advance +150
Colombia is a better team catching point. England's suspect defense will be exposed today. I am making this bet regardless James is playing or not.
