Now that the season is coming to an end and most people are entering the playoffs or close to, I figured I'd find this thread and update it. Let's see who we all made good calls on and which guys flamed out. Remember the title of the thread was "Sleeper WR's" so it has to be expected that many guys we list won't pan out. So let's look and so who turned out to be good pickups.
Braylon Edwards- good call here by Philcore. Edwards certainly wasn't a sleeper in the same mold as the others on this list but he did have a huge breakout season. Since he was acquired in one of my leagues by free agency then I can definately include him here. The Browns need to lock this guy into a longterm deal along with Andeson & WInslow. Big fantasy value for Browns players next year. Perhaps they'll even be overvalued (something to keep in mind).
Brandon Marshall- Walker getting hurt really opened things up for him and he took advantage in a big way. Good call umgmu.
Joshua Cribbs- jdog mentioned him as a possiblity in KRY leagues and he has payed off in a big way. Perhaps the best season of any return man. Another one of those dangerous Browns players like the ones we just mentioned.
Wes Welker- give the man named NFL credit year. What a year for Welker? If you got this guy in the late rounds or off free agency then a hell of a steal for you. I think you have to be a little cautious with Pats players next year though. I think teams have started to figure that offense out and while they may run the tables, teams will use an offseason to prepare and major adjustments will be made. Just saying, don't overdraft Pats players next year.
A few other guys mentioned on this list that had good years or gave some production to your fantasy team. James Jones, PatrickCrayton, Santonio Holmes, Ronald Curry and Shaun McDonald the first half of the season. I can't count Andre Johnson because I don't see how a guy I think is a Top 10 WR can be a sleeper.
Now, to the guys who didn't quite produce so well.
Jacoby Jones
Berrian
All Jags WR's
All Chargers WR's
Curtis has a couple of good games but Philly WR's in general
Everyone I mentioned at the top
Well guys it's been a fun fantasy season as always. I'm in the win and in situation today so hopefully I can keep my season alive and get into the playoffs next week. Hope everyone has great playoff success and I'll definately be talking with some of you guys next season.
