From a quantitative point of view this is what should happen with this game...
 
The Power Ranking works out to be a difference of -0.34.  This negative number points towards South Florida to cover.  During the past three NCAAF weeks the win/loss for Power Ranking totals between 0 & -1 is 3 and 1 or 75%.  Not much data but a trend is developing.
 
If the line moves to -6.5 you must take WVU because the power Ranking difference within the range of 0 to +1 is 5-1-1 or 72%.
 
If the line moves to WVU -8,  I would be all over South Florida.
 
Also, during the last 6 NCAAF games the over/under is 5-1.  This number takes into account the 10:00pm EST games from last Saturday.  If you include the 9:30 game from last week the over/under is 6-1.  Keep in mind that Vegas usually has a 50 50 split when it comes to O/U.
 
If this game goes OVER I would review the 12:00pm games on Saturday and look for some solid unders.
 
As of this moment my line is showing -7 which is leaning me towards South Florida.  On a qualitative basis my heart is telling me WVU.
 
Will wait a bit longfer to see where the line will settle.

I liked South Florida in this game when they beat Auburn a few weeks ago.  Took them last week to kill UNC (unfortunately I also took the over).  But I just saw an article about how WVU, after they lose or their offense plays poorly against a team, rights the ship the next time they play them.    East Carolina held Slaton and White to 119 rushing last season and picked off White 3 times (WVU still won by 20), but last week they piled up 599 total yards of offense against the same East Carolina team!!!  Granted this is only one example and probably means nothing.  But I'm still favoring the big home dog, by the way I heard this is supposed to be the first time South Florida has sold out Raymond James stadium.  I feel like both these teams are going to be so jacked, and this could very well be one of the best games of the year.  Grothe will have to step up tonight, this game could very well decide the big east champs and i see both offenses EXPLODING, and i have to tell you as a Pitt student nothing would make me happier than to see WVU's season over in september.

For the first time this year I don't know who to play, Wvu has made me lots of money year past and I never goes agianst them.But SFL has good speed on defense and has shown that they could play with anyone, plus they are at home.. I might just wait till halftime and put a small wager in this one..I will rather put money on the Oregon Ducks tomorrow.. NICE TO SEE BIGEIII posting again..  GL

I think this game comes down to one thing - has WV really improved on defense? I'm going with yes to that question, and look for a 42-24 type WV win tonight. A little revenge doesn't hurt things either. Note, I don't like to back road favorites in these spotlight games, but this one deserves a play, as well as a play on the over.

First posting for me.  I like WV.  I don't think SF faced a team with any offense yet.  That makes their defense look even better.

Hey Mr BigDaddy, im a big fan of your post just like almost everyone in this forum and again i think you are on the right side, West Virginia.

Ive a heard a lot that this is the biggest game in SF history, that theres going to be more than 65,000 fans, that they won in Morgan Town last year so they know how to play them, etc...BUT, i have to say this, i have to agree with the CBS analizer, with Lousville playing like shit right now,  this is the biggest game of the year for WV, if they lose this game, their national championship posibilities are out the window.

Rich Rodriguez is one of the best coaches in the country, with the talent the have, two heisman candidates and improving defense, i think they will win by at least 10 points.

Just remember, Pat White played with pain last year. He is healthier, more experienced and a better passer right now. he is going to be the difference tonight.

Lefty, good to see your keyboard is working again.  We missed the insight.

I just don't see how So Fla can do it again, even in their own home.  I think that WVU lets the bulls hang around for a half and then blows them out in the second half.  Rich Rodriguez will try to make a statement with the nation watching the only game tonight.

Haven't played against WVU in long time but this looks like the spot. USF at home plus 7 in conference game. WVU is unique on offense and defense but USF has already proved they can play with them by last years win at Morgantown White, Slaton and the new kids are awesome but USF has speed on defense and an improving QB in   Grothe. I think they can put up enough points to stay close or win on field.
