Opening line shows 5, quickly moving to 6....even at 6 I think this is a joke, god willing im gonna bet 1/4 to 1/3 my roll on this game if it comes in at 6 or less.  On paper its not much of a matchup, Ingram and co. will exploit the overrated texas defense, and Bama's D will stomp on texas offense.

These BCS championships are starting to look like past Super Bowls where one team limps in and the other rolls in. Bama will be the play 4 to 6.5 is a small number. Dont see this as a espn classic unless your a bama fan there due and the better team.

The way my Longhorns played against Nebraska they are very fortunate to be playing in the national championship game but don't forget my friend that Bama also squeeked out of some games this season as well against lesser opponents like Auburn and Tennesse.

I'm not discounting on a great Bama team but do feel that Dunlap not playing was a key loss for the Florida defense. That was just plain stupid of Dunlap to risk a joy of one night of drinking for a chance to play in the national championship.

As far as Texas....Suh is a beast on defense for Nebraska and I really hope my Dolphins can have the chance to pick him up in next years draft. Colt was rattled all game long by a very tough Nebraska defense. Cody & Co. from Bama will probably watch some Neb/Texas game film to do the same.

McElroy has been hot & cold all season and fortunate for Bama he was hot against Florida.

Hard one to choose but would have to lean on my Longhorns in this one.

I agree my friend. Bama did get lucky in a few wins. I am in no way going to count Texas out. I think it will be another great Texas Championship.I am a little Bias being from the South. I think Bama will/hope Win and if so it will be well earned. Neb D is a beast!  I also think the teams Bama played were up for the game and the Iron Bowl is a hugh game for the State. If Texas played in the SEC i do think they would of gotten a lost. With that being said... Bama has NEVER beat Texas and the last time they were an underdog (USC) they won. History could very well repeat itself. I bleed SEC but am also not blind. I have much respect for Texas and know it will be 1 hella of a game. Either way you lean GL as all ways   and i look foward to it

Bama is clicking right now and Texas isn't...I know they have a month to get ready for the game, but I see Bama winning this by a td+ for our 13th National Championship!

BigD, If you like Texas wait till gametime I think it might get to 6.5 or 7 pts. I might play the Under, if the  total is  47 pts.

I'm with you on this one BigD, not sure if I will play it yet or not, but if I do it likely will be with TX and the points.   They're undervalued here.

Gotta go against my team in this matchup and take Alabama LARGE. Great SEC defense against a good Big 12 offense... and good SEC offense against a decent Big 12 defense... I'll lay the 5.5 on Alabama.  Sharp

Right now it all points to Bama.....I really think they are playing with last years season ending disappointments on their shoulders!!  I think it will be Colt shedding a tear after this one.  Texas will play much, much better.  But Bama has the better game day coach, a D that is ranked right there with Texas's, but used to playing a much more physical game than the Texas team plays in the Big 12 and a running game they can count on.  That spells a championship and a cover in my book!

i love reading these posts... bama should have lost earlier in the year to tennessee and florida should have lost twice. yet texas is the one who gets hammered for squeaking out a game cause it's at the end of the year and fresh on everyone's mind. alabama has a great run game especially since ingram isn't even their best rb, but UT shuts down the run. And when forced to pass i gotta believe that earl thomas will be their for a pick or two. it is a good big 12 offense and great big 12 defense against a great sec defense and an average sec offense. that does not lead me to believe alabama will run away with anything.

    Horns win as always!

Teams with even decent total defense numbers have had no trouble shutting down Texas this year (Oklahoma, Nebraska) and those same teams had good pass defense numbers, so I'm thinking Alabama won't have any problem, either. Also, Texas is ranked first in rushing defense in the nation, and that should match up well with Alabama, but the Horns haven't played teams with good rushing offenses other than Texas A and M, who put 39 points on them. Alabama will be able to run the football and use up a lot of clock on offense, limit the big Texas plays on defense and cover the 5 point spread.

As much as I'd like to see a Big 12 team stick it to the SEC in the title game, I don't see it happening.

Both solid defenses Texas has faced this year have made the Longhorns' offense look completely stale.  I can't see this as coincidence.  And now Texas faces the #1 team in the nation in scoring defense.

I foresee something similar to the SEC title game, but a bit closer.
Bama by 7 or 10 seems like a likely result.

putting it all down on any team especially bama in a bowl game may not be the best idea...

-REMEMBER last year.  oh they are going to kill UT. UT wont even score on Bama. Oh the Bama Defense is so great..

yeah that didn't work out so well... UT smoked them all game

Suggestion in this and all other major bowl games.. take the dawg and don't let yourself over think it.  NO ONE is as good as you think they are.  Every team "even BAMA and TEX" have erked out a game or more this season.  This bowl game may just be another one of those games whether you are a Tex or Bama fan.  Looking at bowl history, history tells us to simply take the dawgs and move on.  Then again we will probably do like we always do and think we are smatter than the odds makers and take the favs for yet another loss,

That being said good luck to everyone and happy holidays

I see Bama winning. but Texas isn't a punk

Texas + 5.  U will be on PINS and Needles the entire game either way.  I'm thinking it will be a CLOSEGAME
