all I can say is.....watch out for MORONS who dare to discredit the opinion of someone who actually lives in the state like those in the OU v OSU thread. You know who you are. look at my past few posts and you will see that I have called a few or may be on a hot streak (basically when it comes to OU or Dallas). Having said that....I'm a little leary to automatically call an easy OU cover like I have in previous posts. First of all....I'm not an Oklahoma homer. I'm far from it. I actually like both Texas and OU and I have rooted for OU to lose many times. In fact, I'm torn on whether I want OU to lose in the Natl title game or not. I picked Florida in pre season to win it all and I kinda would like that prediction to come true. In case you are wondering I think OU should have jumped ahead of Texas in the Big 12 game based on the round robin and TTech beat Texas so therefore...theory put out by Bob Stoops.
Points to look out for with this game...
1) OU is better than Mizzou and should definately win...but -15.5 is alot of points. even for a red hot OU team
2) location location location: this is almost like a home game for Mizzou based on where this game is
3) Mizz lost to Kansas(in a close one no doubt). That makes this even more dangerous. What if Mizzou has the "we will redeem ourselves no matter what mentality" then OU backers for -15.5
may be screwed
4) weather: OU has traditionally been inconsistent on the road, in cold weather, in night games. (ex. plz rfr to the 2003 or 2004 big 12 title game when OU played Kansas St and got whipped up in a game in which they were heavily favored). I'm not predicting an upset by any means.....but again -15.5? something to think about
5) the teams: by now those that bet on this game know what OU can do. in regards to Mizzou...they aren't that bad. There is a reason why they are a top 20 team as of today in some polls. Mizzou may not be as highly ranked as Ttech and OSU were before, but top 20...is still top 20. Yes, I know that Mizzou looks 1 dimensional at times, but offense is still offense.
6) OU has been playing out of their minds for at least a month now. who knows...maybe it's time for OU to have a slight letdown...that's all it takes for OU backers to have
Overall, OU is clearly the better team in this game, but you never know if Mizzou has the revenge factor thing going on with losing to KU and getting beat up by OU last year. I know Tex whipped up on Mizzou, but this is a different game and a different time.
Personally, I would wait until Thu or Friday to see where the line goes. I'm thinking it may drop, but you never know. the over/under might be a safer play. If the total is 70ish the over might be the way to go. I would stay away from this one if I were worried about losing.
If you are thinking about ripping me....feel free to do so. but let's compare your OU posts to mines and see who is more accurate. not naming names.....,but I noticed that a certain someone felt free to blasts my credibilty, but gleefully predicted Ttech and OSU to cover and we all know how that went. When I layed down the chalk on OSU v Ohio State I was more than happy to read the perspective of those that regulary watch both teams. Like Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt said...I don't know much...but I know OUuuuu. (I'm tone deaf when that song cums on, so that is what I hear....sorry.)
happy betting to all. even to those that freely call me an Oklahomer. I said it so you don't have to waste your time.
