Who else is licking their chops for when Bama beats Auburn to make a POY?

Saban will most likely set his starters after the 1st qt, in the Georgia State game...Alabama will be healthy for the Iron Bowl.

I hope they let him play because after, Alabama beats Auburn and if the NCAA pull's Newton from playing Auburn fans...etc.

Jimmy i really like reading your posts they are always interesting, but you have been cold on some here lately, i believe you will be added to that pile by going against Alabama in the Iron Bowl.

I have noticed some people or thinking this will be a high scoreing game, and i could see why with both defense's as of lately.

But you and i know along with others this could turn out to be a low scoreing game. Keeping Auburn out of 3rd and short would good for Alabama with Cam Newton's size.

Its that sutter step he has that will catch up to him against the Tide defense, Alabama is the pits for sacking QB because of their size, but they fill the gaps because of it.

Alabama wins and knocks Auburn out of the National Championship game.

I am hoping Cam Newton will play to keep the line low enough for me to make the biggest bet of the year on BAMA. Cam Newton will wish that he got suspended rather than playing that game after all the beating he will be getting.

I am at least 4-1 on Auburn game this year. Including last week pick against Georgia.

I wish I could find the story but I don't have much time right now. There was a BB player at a small college in NY that asked a coach of help on a term paper and, I think, a small amount of cash, all via text message. The coach declined the offer. The player was not suspended because no extra benefit was given, even though it was asked for. That makes sense if this is true (from the link on BR): "1. Contrary to what the NCAA has said, there is no section that indicates the act of solicitation of extra benefits would constitute a violation." Now I have not read the rules like the author claimed to have. I am taking his word on it. Cam could be eligible like Means was: not at Alabama but at Memphis (not MSU, at AU).

as an auburn fan, ill admit this thread is filled with too many homers, on both sides, thinking their team will win bc of A and B reasons...lets just see it play out...we arent going to be convincing each other any time soon

has anyone seen a line out on this game yet? sportsbook.com doesnt have one up on their "games of the year". normally they have those up by sunday night... just curious.

There were 2 warnings.  One was in July, and the other was last Thursday or Friday following the Cecil Newton interview.  There are many links to this, but all of them flow from one source as far as I can tell.  That source is Charles Robinson from Yahoo Sports.  He is the guy who broke the Reggie Bush story.  The guy knows what he's talking about.

His exact quote from Friday Nov. 12th was the "NCAA has made Auburn aware of potential eligibility issue. Now Auburn decides whether to risk playing him. Their risk."

After Auburn played Newton the next day, Robinson added, "Auburn was well aware of the NCAA's stance going into this game."

I have yet to run into an Alabama fan who doesn't want to see Newton play.  I think the last thing they want to hear is the Colt McCoy excuse all over again, and I agree.  If Alabama is not good enough to beat Auburn with Newton, then so be it.  I'd rather it be that way then to listen to the Colt McCoy excuse for ten years.

I think the Cam Newton issue is probably a moot one at this point.  It's pretty obvious that unless the NCAA sees fit to take some affirmative action between now and then, Auburn will play him.

I haven't posted plays the last two weeks because I've been extremely busy.  Two weeks ago I had my second best week of the year, but last week I went 5 & 5.  Overall it has been a very good season.

Right now I don't plan to bet the Iron Bowl.  My feeling about the game, however, is that I don't think Alabama can produce enough offense to score with Auburn.  Auburn's weakness on defense is defending the deep passing game, and Bama does not have a deep passing game with McElroy behind center.  I think Bama's defense will have to play out of this world to win.

Now I'm not saying that Bama can't win this game, because they most definitely can.  On the flip side, Auburn has not really had to play a tough road game all season, so this will definitely be a big test for them.

The bottom line for me is will there be any value in the line?  If Bama comes out favored like they probably will, I certainly don't see any great value on that side of the bet.  Betting the ML on the underdog may be the bet with the most value.

There were quite a few people saying it actually. If you look through the forum you will see it. In fact, you posted in a few threads that stated this by others. These are the same people who also are saying that Bama will destroy Auburn. But I am a lot like Chad, I just can't understand how any team could be picked to destroy a team with a potent offense like Auburn's. You will say that Bama's defense is better than any other teams that Auburn has played and I will agree with you, except for LSU's, but don't act like Auburn hasn't played any good defenses. Call me a homer all you like, and I'm sure you will, but if you have seen my posts I hope you can see that I am not basing this simply on the fact that I am an Auburn fan.

Those are the currnent futures against auburn. Personally I am loving it and hope to continue to profit. Everyone talks about how bad Auburn's defense is, and it is bad, What they fail to recognize is the fact that Auburn's defense gets several more stops per game the the defense Auburn is playing. Classic case of not being able to see the forest for the tree's..Best Of Luck and I for one am with you...

I dont understand Alabama fans wanting to see Auburn lose, there are plenty none SEC fans that dont like us, for some reason they seem to think that winning the last past couple of NC titles means that the SEC is overrated??  I cheer for Alabama when they are not playing Auburn, the state will have back to back NC titles with two different teams if Auburn wins, Has any other state done that???
