We Are nation swept nothing under the rug jackwagon, We Are nation knew nothing of this.

Spanier, Schultz and possibly Curley did cover it up, as well as Gov Tom Corbett.

Tom Corbett took millions of charitable donations from Second Mile as he was running for governor and then resumed prosecution of this for re-election. Understand that.

Many people donated to Second Mile for the kids to have a better life, they didnt know it was a playground for Jerry to molest kids, so to say if you donated to that organization you support child molestation is wrong.

The university did not cover up, three jackwagons did.

Jerry Sandusky was not Penn State, he was gone for 14 years

We have 2 new recruits since the trial began, including the first one in 10 years from Florida. We Are nation will be just fine, the other guys can go get their soapbox and work it out in jail

I was wrong, they got another recruit today for 2013, that is 3 since the trial started.

I know I'll get fried for this, but bad as he was, Sandusky did no physical harm to these kids. (Psychological harm, yes.)

As outrageous as this may sound, there are thousands of kids who would jump at the chance to be one of "Jerry's Kids." (Read on, before you go ballistic on me.)

Many kids get a lot worse physical, psychological and even sexual abuse at the hands of their own parents than what Sandusky did. A LOT worse.

There are a whole lot more Fathers who rape their own daughters on a regular basis for years than there are molesters like Sandusky. A WHOLE lot more! And tens of thousands of parents who beat the hell out of their kids daily, leaving them bruised and battered and emotionally scarred for life!

All this outcry for the Sandusky victims and for Sandusky's head. What about some outrage at all the child abuse and incest all around us which is far worse than what Sandusky did? FAR worse.

Before I get fried, I certainly have to admit that in the couple instances of anal sex, that is certainly physical harm and abusive.

Maybe that kills my case in some of your minds. But even a couple of those horrible episodes is not as bad as a DAILY or regular beating or raping by a parent.

i dont think its the time or place for this, while there are some holes in some of the victims statements and the defense has yet to have their turn really in defense, it is pretty clear that jerry is a first class scumbag and used his status for pure molestation purposes. sadly, some of these kids kept going back for more, just to be able to go to a football game like victim 6. but its not fair to judge their psychological stand point after the constant abuse jerry gave them.

I'm certainly not apologizing for Sandusky and his acts.

I was just trying to put it into perspective and point out that a LOT worse goes on with child abuse and incest without nearly the attention and outrage as this.

You really think what Sandusky did is worse than a father repeatedly raping his daughter? That was my only point. Maybe not the time for it. Sorry.

Bad is bad, so I'll let you guys stay on message and keep your outrage and thread to just molesters and pedophiles.

I don't know man .... I think Penn St sits in the middle of the BIG 10 for years to come

NO BCS Games for awhile

Used to love the program , went to several games there over the years ....

Right now this whole thing just makes me sick , Not going back there anytime soon

Honest, I wasn't trying to lessen what Sandusky had done or let him off at all. But no one said why my argument that child abuse and incest are even worse makes me worthy of your disgust. It was just an opinion that one bad thing was worse than another.

The reason I think so is that in a home, it is a repeated act and the child is a hostage of the abusing parents and can't escape it from happening again and again. That's the point I was trying to make. I was not trying to canonize Sandusky.

Are you guys really not aware of the extent and horrors of child abuse and incest? Just sayin' a hell of a lot more of it goes on than child molesting. Both are bad, agreed.

Maybe I'm not clear on all that Sandusky did and how often. I had the impression that he only got sexual on occasion, not on every visit. Bad enough of course, but a seriously abusing parent is even worse imo.

By an abusing parent I didn't just mean spankings. I mean serious, repeated beatings. Or in the case of incest, repeated child rape.

that is understandable and fair to say the football team may not be in a bcs game for a few years, though very predictable considering.

but the point i have been making is it really doesnt matter what the football program is doing, there is so much more to this university with academics, research, and charitable activities that true penn staters will do just fine without another 12-0 football team for a while. its ok with me and its ok with me for BOB to take his time and implement what he needs to do. he is doing great so far and is a highly intelligent and respectable man.

and none of what i just mentioned has a lick to do about the old regime at all or a sandusky scandal.

it is simply not fair to paint everyone in the same breath and hold penn staters to a standard of support for that scumbag.

and i would understand why outsiders would want to stay away for a while, completely understandable to me.

Except for the fact that he had his own office at Penn State, parking at Penn State, and access to all the sports facilities at Penn State (including showers), and was a former coach at Penn State. If you read the indictment, you'd see that one of his three Second Mile camps was at Penn State University Park campus

Yeah, other than that, he had nothing to do with Penn State..........

let me make this clear for you hawk...

emeritus status is made and enforced by the state of pennsylvania. you cannot take that away from someone because you "think" he is a child molester or criminal of any kind. how hard is this to understand, learn the law and rules of certain topics or please dont bother.

you can say jerry sandusky is penn state, but he is a delusional creep who longed for the head coaching job joe would never give him in a million years and who used and abused any connection he had to get into penn state games to lure kids to molest them. thats a sick fan who was lucky the state government granted him privileges that he deserved based on his longevity per protocol as an employee for the state of pennsylvania. you see him in penn state gear every time the media shows up at his house? thats what he wants you and everyone else to believe, but most of all the kids he molested, that he is a psu big wig and he is not. joe did not even talk to the guy in years and years.

the key word you used is "former" coach at penn state, i was a "former" target employee 15 yrs ago, if i became a child molester or molested kids at target while i worked there when i was 16 does target get blamed that all their employees are child molesters and they should be shut down?

its like saying all blacks commit robberies if 3 black men walk into a party store and rob it....or blaming all of germany for hitlers reign. why not blame the entire us military for one guy who shot up innocent people that they are all savage killers.

the dumbest part of this whole thread on top of everything is a suggestion that jurors who have attended psu or taught there would protect this guy....laughable, its the complete opposite.

then we get into psu will never be the same, but they are doing better than ever educationally, philanthropically, and recruiting wise for the football team

now its jerry sandusky is penn state/penn state is all child molesters/state college is a sick place/this trial is killing penn state yada yada yada. and i have just responed to all of that with facts and knowledge

just the other day,the media made a big deal of the will of joe paterno not being released. so the paternos released it, what is the big deal? its not, its just the media making it a topic of discussion and trying to make this a paterno thing when its not...and some of you drank the kool aid.
