am actually shocked at you buying a 1/2 point on okie. If you need to buy that point to feel safe on a 21 point favorite, then you shouldnt be making that bet. I was really surprised to see you do that, since you aint no rookie bettor.

@cd329 If I had bought 1/2 a point on my umass total I would of won $2500
Its clear you didnt understand my post.
If you need to buy a 1/2 pt or even a point to make yourself feel better about your pick, then you shouldnt be betting that game and instead look for a bet that you feel better about. Just pass that play, was my point. Look it like this you like Team A, you want to bet them minus 10 but they are minus 10.5. If you dont think that team is gonna win by 11, why are you even making a wager on that game. Your laying -120 to protect your bet and get a tie. Look your pick at minus 10 still has to win by 11 for you to win your bet. Point is if you think your bet isnt gonna win by a few more points then what the line is then PASS THAT GAME. And trust me in 47 years doing this shit, i lost a lot of bets by the hook, but none of those losses did i make a bet thinking my team would only win by 1 point. Thats why i never put myself in a spot, where i get sick if i get beat by the hook and wished i bought the 1/2
Also you do know the reason that books let you buy points, right? Its not to help you win bets, its to put more cash in their pockets. If they lost money letting us buy points, we wouldnt be able to buy points.
