Full disclosure though is that I love this Wisconsin team. They are my National Champions.

Its mainly my man-crush on Russell WIlson. I hosed him down a few times last year at NCSU and almost came when I heard I could bet on him again at Wisconsin. Its just that when teams are this highly rated, they are overvalued. That means you are always going to be paying a premium. Always. You know whats worse than paying a premium? Nothing.

    And Boom - I dont have Clemson/Auburn over 50. I have it around 47.

    Boom & Co.-

I like the thread, there is a lot of good information on here.  I usually prefer to just read and learn rather than come on here and anonymously blast someone's opinion who is more experienced and has had more success than myself. I'm relatively new to the sports gambling game, I have been in pick 'em leagues in the past, but this is the first year have set up a bankroll and started researching the games more in depth.

Through the first 2 weeks I have come up with a few questions and I'm hoping some of you will be willing to share your answers/opinions.

1.) I know the difference in strength of schedule makes a lot of game stats irrelevant early in the season, but as more games are played are their certain games stats that become useful?  My knowledge of football tells me that Total D, Rush O, and turnover differential leads to a team having a good season, but does that hold true when betting?

2.) What online books do you guys reccommend?  Im currently using bodog, but it pisses me off that they dont release some of their lines until close to game time.  I would like to be able to get on games earlier in the week when I like an early line.

3.)  The last and least important question has to do with this site.  Do you guys post picks somewhere to move your status up from prospect, to veteran, to All-Star etc...?  Not that it really matters money wise, just a pride thing!!!

I'm happy to hear that a lot of you think highly of Wisconsin this year.  As a long time badger fan, I will warn you that they have a tendency to drop 1 game to a sub par team during their great seasons.  Then again we've never had a QB like Wison.....

Do you like LSU-MSU under 50? I like this bet alot with two shitty Qbs and two good defenses. Clock should be running all night and final score could be a 20-17 type of game.

    Auburn going into death valley...

There is not an easy victory with my Tigers right now.  In week 1, Auburn played 13 True Freshman... and found a way to win.  Not sure what the total was, but I suspect the number of true freshman playing was about the same against a good Miss St team... and Auburn found a way to win.  Everybody wants to keep talking about "luck" with Auburn, and while Auburn has definitely had their good share of luck, I think the bigger story is the youth of this team finding a way to win.  With each passing week that Auburn gets a win, they get harder to beat because, with so much youth, they cannot help but to be growing and getting better.

Going into death valley will be an extremely tough test for Auburn, and I would not be shocked if Auburn exited death valley with an "L", but I think they CAN win this game...  as I think Miss St. is better than Clemson.  Yet, it is at Death Valley, and that element will be a new and tough experience for alot of youth on Auburn's team.

The key will be turnovers and Auburn continuing to improve on Defense.  Despite all the yards on the ground Auburn gave up against Miss St, I think they looked improved against Miss St.  If they improve the same amount this week, they'll have a good shot.

    Either way, War Eagle!

    War Eagle!

We can beat Clemson, if we don't fall behind early. Our D line looked a lot better in week 2 than week 1 for sure. I'm hoping our Defense gets a big play this game, they need it for a confidence builder!

Seriously?  I don't think there's any way Tulsa scores less than 30 in this one.  And I'm pretty sure OSU will drop 40+, so I like the over as well.  GL.

add2income - many people have different methods. If you like capping a game based on Statistics alone that's fine. I do like stats myself, but I evaluate match ups and I trust my "eyes" when I pick games. I know that may sound cheesy, but I feel like I see things by watching teams play better than just using stats. Online betting is almost gone, be careful witch one you use. Post counts moves you up in levels...

bigshotbill - I dont know how I feel about this game tonight. I hate betting on games with LSU in them.

redsox - I think in this game Michigan will just try to grid you guys out... run the ball and chew clock. Michigan 38 E.Michigan 10

Cover34 - Tulsa scored there share last week...30 something points.

inthetank - Sounds fun you guys be careful and have fun.

Loooooooove Navy!!!! They have been whoppin Vegas' azz all year and SC Defense is a great collection of athletes who have given up 39.5 pts a game. ECU was a system team that lit them up (see what Va Tech's D did to them). Navy is a system team that will score some points.

    E. Michigan  /  Michigan   Under 63  2 units
    Wisconsin  /  N. Illinois  Under 63.5  2 units

Boom-  Glad to see you're on these unders I brought up earlier in the week.  I've had a strong lean on both since they opened up.  As I've said, the difference in the spread vs. the total in the EMU/Michigan screamed "under" in my eyes.  This circumstance rarely comes up (such a large disparity between a multi-touchdown favorite's spread vs. the over/under.)  It would indicate that oddsmakers give EMU credit for 14-20 points, but anyone that knows EMU understands this is ridiculous!

The Wisconsin/NIU game is being played just down the road from me at Soldier Field.  Anyone familiar with this stadium knows the natural turf can be rough at times, even at the beginning of the season.  For two teams that strive on artificial turf and are playing their stiffest competition to date, the under is a golden play.  Take these to the bank!

Opposite tonight on the ISU/UConn game.  I don't know what anyone putting their dough on ISU sees in them.  Watched both games they've played this season, and they're as bad as they've been for the last several years.  But then again, a wise man once told me:  "The best bet on the board is the most difficult one to pull the trigger on!"

    Good luck Boom.

    Good luck with Clemson Boom!!

I was really looking forward to seeing who you would play in this game. Auburn is the hottest team in football so it will be interesting to see if Clemson will be the team to end their streak!

    Also love your Tennessee play.
