"The best component of Sunday's program came near the end during analysis by Philadelphia sports radio broadcaster Mike Missanelli. He pointed out Paterno has ''responded very poorly'' any time the legal issues are brought up.

Instead of addressing the real issues and how to correct them, Missanelli mentioned how Paterno often has chided reporters simply for asking about the problems.

    That's called denial.

The worst part of this situation is that in late July, with the football season still more than a month away, Penn State is in spin control defending its football program and its head coach."

What part of this do you not understand, jersey?

He reported it to the AD. He could have followed up WITH A PHONE CALL.

As I posted in another thread, legally, he is in the clear. Morally, he is bankrupt.

I bring up the thing from a few years ago to show that this has not been the first time JoePa has met with problems. Where there is smoke......

The Coach that stood for Something did Nothing............

great point!  ignoring the single crime is bad enough... but Joe Pa is smart enough and been around long enough to know, that by ignoring that one crime, they opened to door to many more being committed...

basically, didn't they send Sandusky the message that he can "go about his business" and not have to worry about ramifications?  they essentially ENDORSED further crimes...

Everyone is going down here. AD, the Prez, the coach and his entire staff who up until now was seen as a deity-like figurehead. Jo Pa knew the details about Sandusky, but he did the bare minimum to clear his legal responsibility.

This makes him complicit whether you love Him or not. McQuerry is a complete coward for not reporting the crime to authorities.  Now he's on the staff? These guys are morally bankrupt.

I'm glad you can make jokes about a man having anal sex with children. Like these children don't exist because they are not related to you. You are a good man Jersey

How do you not report a crime you see on a child to the police?

You go to Daddy and then JoePa? So, you did your job.

Now you're on the coaching staff.

    Sleep well at night.

    Others can not.

The university's online directory listed Sandusky -- whom Penn State officials said was banned from campus over the weekend -- as an assistant professor emeritus of physical education in the Lasch building.

The grand jury investigating Sandusky found that he was given the office, a parking pass and other amenities as part of his 1999 retirement package.

Jerry Sandusky's son, Jon, is the director of player personnel for the Cleveland Browns. Jon Sandusky will remain in his role and not take a leave of absence, as was initially expected, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The Browns said Jon Sandusky does not intend to comment about any aspects of the scandal at Penn State.

I think everybody needs to read the grand jury report before really forming a major opinion on this situation. It's literally the most disturbing thing I've ever encountered in my life considering I was too young to properly digest 9/11.

Penn St will never recover from this.

The football program thrived on the state college community and it's rich history.

The community is in shambles and may never support the program like they did in the past.

The history is forever tarnished and many will want it to become forgettable.

The fact that these ltttle boys let Sandusky do it with them suggest that they enjoyed it.  They are as gulity as Sandusky.

I witnessed my friend being molested in the bathroom in 1st grade by another student.   I told my teacher immediatly.  The next day it was a big fucking deal.  I spent a lot of time over the next few days explaining my story to everyone...they even busted out the dolls with private parts for me to show them how he touched us.  At the end of the day my friends parents sued the school for HUGE $$$.

Moral of the story, it doesn't take a grown man to understand that something fucked up and wrong is going on.  I blew the whistle as a first grader and saw the scorched earth of embarrassment and court hearings.

Penn Rape knew if this was released it would be a giant shit storm, so they panicked and covered it up.  Once they covered it up they knew they were in bed with sandusky and had to protect him.

Maybe someday a child close to you will be victimized by a predator who was allowed to go free because of cowards like JoePa and McQueary. Would you still feel the same way?

Now go find that cliff you silly stupid little child.

That really is scary to think about.  I mean if he turned a blind eye to this for the sake of his program, what else did he turn a blind eye to during his 189 years coaching at Penn State?

    Absolutely disgusting program.

Only thing left to do for Joe Pa especially since he is old.
Take Sandusky out for doing this in the first place, what a piece of shit.

    Jersey-

You need to be banned- get over your love affair for Joe Pa- He put his head in the sand plain and simple- He knew what scum Sandusky was yet let him come around the campus with little kids- That is sick- he basically gave his ok for that scum to keep doing what he was doing- His coaching accomplishments are nothing when compared to this scandal-

P.S. - the last several years he has been nothing but a figurehead anyway- he doesn't know the plays and he doesn't coach- He is the "head coach" by tital only
