Maybe someday a child close to you will be victimized by a predator who was allowed to go free because of cowards like JoePa and McQueary. Would you still feel the same way?

You guys are all fucking retarded,

Stop focusing on the best college football coach ever to live. This will not tarnish what he has done for college football. The majority of you retards will forget this ever happened by next week.

The focus should not be on Joe Paterno or the graduate assistant. The focus should be on Jerry Sandusky, the rapist, Tim Curley, the AD who received a report from Joe Paterno and decided to do nothing about it, and Graham Spanier, the President and final decision-maker for PSU who failed to do his job during this entire scandal.

You guys are making it seem like Joe Paterno was the one raping little boy.

No you goons. It was Jerry Sandusky.

Joe Paterno is the best college football coach ever to live. God bless him.

Paterno knew what this sick fuck was doing and he did next to nothing.  He knew there was a cover up and he did nothing.

Protecting the good name of his program is obviously more important than stopping his friend from sexually abusing young boys.

How many more boys did this sick fuck sexually abuse because Paterno didn’t want to hurt the good name of his program?

Paterno and anyone else who knew about this and did nothing is a piece of shit.

    Wise up.

I've actually been searching for a thread on this.. and yes I'm PSU alum.

So here we go.  At this point the few people at fault and they need to go are Mike McQ and the president of the school.  Why?  Let's somewhat scenario in a different environment.  So you're a supervisor at a big company and an employee comes up to you and say he saw another employee beat up someone pretty badly the day before.

So as the supervisor do you call the police?  And tell them what?  That someone told you that they saw something happen?  Call the police and report something that you have absolutely no direct knowledge of?   Only Mike McQ could have done that.. or the top of the food chain (i.e. yes there's a person who decides whether police should or should not be involved).  So let's say Joe Pa did call the police.. and what he was told 3rd party was wrong.  Well now he's getting sued for a couple million dollars, possibly criminal charges.

So let's talk about what happens when something gets reported and police are notified.  If you committed some type of felony do you think they keep your employer notified on the status?  no.. that's illegal also.  Do they let your employer know if you're ever cleared.  Again.. no illegal also.  Privacy is a pretty big thing in this country if anyone hasn't noticed (especially when dealing w/ state/gov).  Until you're convicted they can't say much to anyone.  If you're never convicted, you'll never hear about it.

There are at minimum 2 people at fault. Mike McQueary should've called the police immediately and probably even intervened.  Telling his superior was just a 2nd piece of what he had to due by university standards.  JoePa did exactly what he should have done also.. he can't force Mike McQ to call the police.. and he himself can't do it either.  So it gets passed up the food chain.. So the heard of the athletics probably makes the final say here.. and the fault falls on him.  Also anyone above him who knowingly allowed this to not be reported.  So now you're probably talking, Mike McQ, the head of athletics and the President.

Get over your love affair for the man- He did nothing- He allowed that pedophile to hang around Penn St. and bring kids to the facilities knowing he was a pedophile- Legally he did what he needed to- Morally he is a scum who did NOTHING! And because of his failure to do anything else, Sandusky probably commited more ungodly crimes!

Learning that children are being sexually abused and then going along with a cover up is “exactly what he should have done”?

If you truly believe that then you are as big of a piece of shit as Paterno and anyone else who knew about this and did nothing to stop it.

According to the attorney general Paterno was told that his friend was sexually abusing young boys in the Penn State showers in 2003.  Sandusky continued to sexually abuse young boys up to 2009.

That is 6 years of sexual abuse that could have been stopped if Paterno had acted like a god damn human being and told someone who actually gave a shit.

But nope, Paterno would rather protect the good name (no longer) of his football program than stop his friend from continuing to sexually abuse little boys.

"As the graduate assistant entered the locker room doors, he was surprised to find the lights and the showers on. He then heard rhythmic, slapping sounds. He believed the sounds to be those of sexual activity. As the graduate assistant put his sneakers in his locker, he looked in the shower. He saw a naked boy ... whose age he estimated to be ten years old, with his hands up against the wall, being subjected to anal intercourse by a naked Sandusky. The graduate assistant was shocked but noticed that both [the victim] and Sandusky saw him. The graduate assistant left immediately, distraught."

    With good reason....lotta emotion here
    However.....your brain should still function.....somewhat

the venom here should be....at this point....on that Sandusky asshole.....for it appears that he is in fact guilty as hell......so we are in the clear (kinda)...in demanding immediate castration.....and possible execution or life in prison....for that evil bastard

    Paterno.....not so much
if we know.....FOR SURE...that he KNEW that Sandusky was raping young boys.......of course call for his head too...

But....take a deep breath and think for a moment

some guy ...you hardly know....(a young intern at work maybe)....comes to you and tells you your BEST FRIEND.....YOUR BROTHER....or even YOUR FATHER....was seen molesting a young boy....SO.....you go STRAIGHT to the police?
no questions asked?....most every stinkin' one of you are lying if you say you would
*Sandusky not family ....but this makes no difference

ME?.....some guy tells me he saw a good friend I know.....and trust....doing something with a young boy...my immediate thought it he must be mistaken....maybe the guy has it out for my friend....for whatever reason
I would submit....most of you would not even MENTION it to your friend.....let alone confront him with it....and basically nofuckinbody just takes it to the cops...

*at this point....I don't think we know EXACTLY what McCreary told Paterno...

To ASSUME he said...."hey I saw Coach Sandusky screwing a young boy in the shower ...."...Paterno acknowledged the rape....and then brushed it aside?????....highly doubt it

    SO....should he resign?.....yes ....immediately
for this happened under his "watch"......
But judged for "allowing" this to happen?......NO

    any Catholics here?....

    recall the POPE.....somewhat respected....
    did something much worse....

Why did they even have  a grand jury? Hell all they had to do was read this thread since so many know more than what the grand jury learned.

I have  thought about this  alot,,(who  hasnt) and I agree  with  everything you  say , as  that is exactly how I broke it down the  first I  was hearing  about it.  ..but I  have  moved  back and  forth  about  this regarding  Joe Paterno.  the  logical side of me  says  exactly what you say but the emotional/moral side of  me  says how  could it happen.  AND...  we  are  talking  about Joe Paterno,,clearly more  powerful than Curley and Scultz put together...  For  Paterno to  simply move 'it up the  food chain' is somewhat  gratuitious....

Paterno was the top of the  food chain.

This seems so  similar to the  catholic church scandals with  important bishops or  cardinals ,seemingly, denying the obvious, as if merely forgiving our sins is the  final step in redemption. or  in this case, the exploits of Penn St football history counts for more than anything else.

That last  part seems too  poetic for this situation at Penn St and I  am certainly no expert on salvation or redemption or sin or religion (which I dont  practice

But I do feel like I know right from  wrong.

Paterno hardly knows McQuery, he was just a record setting quarterback at PSU who still has several records that still stand but Paterno hardly knows him

I could not disagree more with that bold statement. If somebody came to me and said my friend or brother had sex in the showers with a young boy, you better believe I confront my friend or brother and notify the police immediately to get the sick fuck some help

We are talking about having sex with children, yet you won't confront your best friend or brother if somebody tells you they saw them doing that

I am not going to go back and forth with you on this.

Good Luck with your life bro, I wish you the best

You can attempt to spin this as much as you like.  The only people buying it are pedophiles and penn state homers.

Paterno knew what this sick fuck was doing and he did next to nothing.   He knew there was a cover up and he did nothing.

Protecting the good name of his program is obviously more important than stopping his friend from sexually abusing young boys.

Paterno was told of the shower incident in 2003.  Sandusky was still sexually abusing young boys in 2009  How many more boys did this sick fuck sexually abuse because Paterno didn’t want to hurt the good name of his program?

Paterno and anyone else who knew about this and did nothing is a piece of shit.

And if anyone here would have done the same thing they are pieces of shits as well.

According to the indictment, in 2002 a Penn State graduate assistant - now-assistant coach Mike McQueary[13] - walked in on a ten-year-old boy being subjected to anal intercourse by Sandusky. The next day, he reported the incident to Paterno, who informed Curley. Ultimately, the only action Curley and Schultz took was to order Sandusky not to bring any children from Second Mile to the football building—an action that was approved by school president Graham Spanier. The indictment accused Curley and Schultz of not only failing to tell the police, but falsely telling the grand jury that the graduate assistant never informed them of sexual activity.

Read that paragraph above and tell me how that does not come down to them saying "Ok, Jerry its ok for you to keep fucking 10 year old boys just don't do it on the PSU campus"
