Thee worst team in the history of the sport now carries the burden of having to win by 10+ on a neutral field across this country vs the #1 program ever with momentum and confidence off a win, while IU is cold and rusty with a month off while being showered with national praise.
Prior to beating OSu in the bigccg, IU and Cignetti were still on the fringe of normie consciousness. Only college football fans knew about them. Once they won, they blew up and fully entered the consciousness of the vast majority of the country, like Cowboys/Lakers/Yankees team popularity, everywhere on social media, media spotlights like 60 minutes, media hype everywhere. The magic of IU and Ciggy lied in their underdog spirit, being doubted, having no believers. Now everyone believes, even Vegas. In unfamiliar territory as a huge favorite with everyone expecting them to perform big, their psychological edge is gone. Conversely, Bama is thriving on the underdog role, and has this year with wins @UGA and @OU, being left for dead after the SEC title loss. They have a chance to go on a 2024 OSU level run now.
The line is completely and utterly ridiculous. A spread this big is reserved for a massive disparity between teams. IU is good but now extremely overrated. Their win vs OSU now doesn't look like much and the schedule has been a cakewalk besides 2 games. Bama has been through murders' row with 5+ grueling tests.
Maybe IU wins a close one at best, but I would unironically make this spread IU -1. I predict this line will drop from 7.5 to a juiced 7 or soft 6.5 by game time where it opened once it looks like the rain will stop around kickoff and favor Bama's passing game advantage. Simpson is a better QB with better weapons. Mendoza is overrated riding the hype of a 13-0 Cinderella with some Heisman moments, but really isn't all that great and now faces the Heisman curse.
Bama +7.5 -115 - EASY as an all-time opportunity and you're given it for FREE out of pure charity

Unless you’re from Indiana or an Indiana homer you realize that they will be outclassed in this game. I’m not even a Bama fan and see what is coming…..

line doesn't make sense. i am on bama + the points because it seems like it should be a great game. i been doing this long enough to recognize a fishy line tho. doesn't usually work out well for the fish. i took the bait anyways, so good luck to us.

I have too much respect for Vegas and the oddsmakers to mock and ridicule the lines they set. They do however make mistakes and it's my job to find them. Indiana fans should be nervous, being undefeatedfirst of all, then going against a battle tested Bama squad playing with housemoney. I loved the Canes last night and I'm equally as thrilled to get points with the Tide today. If it's close in the second half as it likely will be, Indiana is going to feel the pressure and that's when bad things can happen. Just sayin' -

I don’t know what some of you have been watching but IU’s coach is the real deal. He has taken the worse football school in the nation to a 23-2 record in two years. He also has the chance to be the first team in the history of NCAA football to go 15-0. When we played Oregon I was hoping we wouldn’t get embarrassed. When we played against the EVIL OSU I hoped it would be at least close. IU fans have won regardless how they do today and will be good for a long time as long as Curt stays at IU. GO HOOSIERS AND SHOW THE WORLD HOW GOOD YOU REALLY ARE!
