he's an unknown entity until he starts w/the lights on and has to make plays.
archer back will help a lot though.
Yes, agree on always considering the source. Was trying to be as objective as possible there. In this case, the individual had formed this opinion years ago well before Fleck was named HC at WMU, so I believe jealousy about landing a HCing gig was not at the root of his opinion.
My main thought was that some coaches step in to better situations than others; being promoted from within for continuity vs. coming in to a new program and trying to change the existing culture. I'd consider Western an underachieving program last year that needed a change. In life, this profession, really all professions, and also on this message board it's obvious that not everybody has to like everyone else. There's plenty of other coaches out there with a Love 'em or Hate 'em personality. And we have no idea how 18-22 year olds are going to respond, so the main takeaway is I'll be watching this team closely on 9/28 at home vs. Kent and 10/12 at home vs. Buffalo. I think these two games will show us how the team responds after a tough early season non-conference schedule. ...A little off topic now on season win totals, we'll have to get back to that. BOL this coming season!
