How did ND lose out to Bama for a playoff spot?

And Miami got in and lost to SMU? Should have kept it to 4 teams.

With a schedule like this, they put themselves in a corner if they lose even 1 of these games.

Then I’d take Texas. They have a bad Florida loss but 3 top 10 wins which is a lot more than ND can buffer a resume with today.

At least we get to watch Tulane and JMU lose by 50.

I’m not saying ND deserves to be in. They don’t belong to a Conference and tippy toe big games on their scheduling. Bama should not be in. I’m an SEC guy and Georgia mopped the field with them yesterday. They ended up with 3 losses. Vanderbilt deserved to be in over them. Regardless of the bs. BYU is an ok team but lost twice to a top 4 team and one of those losses in the Big 12 Championship game. Bama is not that good and it’s pitiful they squeak in.

 Wrong…Miami earned it on the field…blame them letting in James Madison and Tulane…same reason the Big Ten is so excited…their best team would not have made 4 team playoff last two seasons and they would still be crying about Sec dominance..playoffs is helping everybody except the top conference…as for ND…join a conference and earn your spot like everyone else!

The entire process is phony, and totally ridiculous.....

SO - is ND one of the 12 best? - without a doubt

 It’s never been the top 12…not with 5 guaranteed spots….this year it’s just the top 10…ND May or may nit be a top 10 team…all they had to do was beat Miami and it would have left no doubt

People are slow to understand that with the expansion of conferences that many teams aren’t playing one another and even the best teams aren’t making into the title game…Miami was a top 2 ACC team but tiebreakers went against them, meanwhile, Bama was not a top 2 Sec team but tie breakers got them into title game…

as much as I dont really want bama to be in even with 3 losses they have a legit case. yep they lost to fsu in the first game. remember ND losing to northern illinois last year? people said well it was early and that was the key if you're gonna lose to a weak team better make sure it's early in the season so you can climb back up the rankings. Bama to their credit did beat #5 UGA on the road, beat #11 Tenn, #14 Missouri on the road, #16 Vandy not to mention these 4 ranked teams were b2b2b2b. No other team considered iffy has beaten that many ranked teams not even close.

Yep that’s an impressive 4 week run. IMO when you’re comparing Alabama to a team that cant play for conference titles you can just throw yesterday out. Leaves you with a pair of 10-2 teams & Alabamas resume crushes ND. 

Miami has the H2H with ND.
