i know there is a hell of a lot more you should look into when capping this game... but to me, these two stats are telling. it tells me bama has played bigger games this year against better opponents... and won all of them.  while texas is playing weak opponents in games that no one cares about (except for the big 12 championship, which they nearly lost).

this bama team is just better prepared to play on big stage against a big time opponent... bama wins by 10.

Maybe UT haven't face a top tier team this season but Mack Brown know how to get his squad ready for the BCS Bowls. The guy haven't lost a BCS game ever. Only matchup between Brown and Saban in 03 Cotton Bowl? Yup,,,,,,Mack 35, Saban 20.

im glad he lost that game... because saban has only lost one game in his entire college career in which he lost to an opponent the previous game.

i really hope this isnt your reasoning for placing a large wager on texas in this game..the cotton bowl 6 years ago? really??..texas isnt going to just be able to out-athlete bama like they have everyone else on their schedule.  bama is by far the biggest, strongest,  and fastest team texas has seen this year.  and im sorry, i dont mean to hurt your feelings, but when it comes to actually coaching, saban will do donuts around mack brown.  it pains me to say that because i hate alabama.

Why won't Terrance Cody dominate and disrupt Texas O-line like Suh did?

Sue is a defensive tackle who plays in a 4-3 defense.. Cody is a nose guard who plays in a 3-4 defense... Cody's job is to ocupy 2-3 blockers so the LB's can fly around and do their thing....Cody is also why Bama's rush defense is one of the best, no one can run up the middle on them, so they have to bounce outside and there is always a free LB there ready to make the tackle... The problem with Texas is though that they are a passing team and Cody will not be in there a whole lot because Bama will be in a nickle or dime package which is not Cody's specialty... Cody usually does not play on obvious passing downs...

IMO that is mainly a QB Jinx... All but 1 of those was QB's and that was Bush in 05 ...QB's have a lot more preperation to do and all the Heisman stuff takes away from that, and to add that most QB's are head cases anyways it really does not help... A RB just needs a small crease opened up and acts off instincts that require no thinking, just reacting..RB's also do not have really know defensive tendincy's as much as QB's do .That is just my take on it though...

Previous Heisman winners to lose a bowl game involving No. 1 vs. No. 2 in the AP poll are Navy's Roger Staubach (1963), USC's O.J. Simpson (1968), Georgia's Herschel Walker (1982), Miami's Vinny Testaverde (1986), Miami's Gino Torretta (1992), USC's Reggie Bush (2005) and Ohio State's Troy Smith (2006).

What the hell does that have to do with THIS year's NC matchup?

Honestly, are some of you basing your betting strategies on which which squad's player lost the heisman??? Seriously

I'm not necessarially making a gaurantee on who win win the NC Title, but to base this year's Title prediction on who won/lost the Heisman is a tad bit ridculous to me, imo.

...And, I could care less what "trend's" have dicated the title game in the past. Especially when it come's to past squad's Heisman winner's.

    Conspiracy theories...conspiracy theories,,,,

Rookie, or I should say prospect

I am posting this to give more information and angle to people who care to look into this type of data and stat

For your information, last year Sam Bradford also failed to cover ATS as a Heisman winner.

Take it for what it worth. I am not saying you should take BAMA or TEX because of this information. Where do I say that? I just have the hair raising head as an alarm to tell my friends here to watch for this interesting stat too.

So what is your contribution beside criticizing what I post? and next time read carefully before start crying ....

    Really????

Last I checked, Texas breed some of the best college players around the nation and the majority of them stay right here in Texas - UT, TCU, TT, etc....Bama along with other SEC teams have plenty of players from Texas who are playing lights out.

Prove to me in what area is Bama bigger, faster, smarter than UT players...all in those combination???? Do they bleed another color than RED too? Where does it say that Bama has dominated UT specifically in the past?

This is not SEC vs. Big 12.........this is Bama vs. UT on a neutral field in Pasadena where Mack is 1-0 in the NC and undefeated in BCS bowls.

Lets give Mack credit where credit is due, the guy knows how to win BCS bowls and he knows how to recruit the right players for his system.

This is the best pass/run QB offense and defense Bama will face this season..........lol........and of course none of you Bama backers want to hear that.

Keep listening to the trash you hear on the RADIO how badass SEC conference is......

    We shall see.....

Gambling-Devil - the more you dig up infor. and the more you keep an open mind, you'll realize that Mack Brown gets it done and UT will win this game. Hands down he is the best coach in the Nation and the highest paying coach for good reason. The guy well get his team prepare for what's to come.

This is like the classic matchup of UT speed vs. Bama power.

Bama will have no answer for Colt McCoy

im not taking anything away from mack brown.  he's good at what he does(recruiting, being a figure head, etc) when it comes to actual coaching, he doesnt hold a candle to saban.  nebraska's coaching staff made texas look silly 2 weeks ago.  no adjustments whatsoever....how many times did mccoy have to get sacked or throw the ball away before coach brown decided to change his protection schemes???

and yes, bama is bigger, stronger, and faster than anyone texas has played this year.  if you dont see that, then you havent watched them play this year.

im not even saying your play on texas is the wrong one.  im just asking you to justify the play based on the two teams on the field THIS year.  your keep justifying your play what texas has done in past years.  if you wanna make your play on that, then fine.  i just think you should have more reasoning besides "texas is undefeated in BCS Bowls"  .....but based on "the past", saban is 1-0 in NC games as well.

im not bashing your play man.  im just giving you some things to think about before you go large on texas.  you seem to be taking everything really personal which makes me believe this is simply a homer play on your part.

Do you have anything positive to add regarding Bama? Other than they are an SEC team, and they played a tough schedule this yr and they beat the Gators?????

Tell me something the entire sportsbetting world doesn't know already??????

Must be nice sitting pretty at -5 right and feeling over-confident right? I really hope you put a boat load on this game cause you know all of that money is going into UT backer's pockets. One word of advice for you, only bet what you can afford to lose cause it's going to hurt when your team choke.

Read my thread,,,I gave you many reasons why UT is the play. What more do you want me to show you?

The secret to picking a winner in the NC game is to expect the unexpected. Can I make that sound any clearer? with all due respect to everyone here,,,,You probably have no clue to what I am talking about. Put your $$$ where you feel is comfortable for you because where you feel comfortable might not be the "right" place to put it on this game.

i dont think you have the ability to make anything clear.

Ive tried several times in your thread to bring up points that actually matter when capping this game and you've failed to respond with anything that is even halfway relevant or coherent.  ive told you twice that texas may even be the right side.  im not on either side yet.

dont worry kid, ill leave ya alone and stay out of your thread from now on.  bol on your play
