Gay-tors are hot right now no doubt. They haven`t played anybody either the sec east sucks this yr. I like BAMA`s chances. They will have to play better than they have the last couple of games,control the ball with the run game and not have any turnovers. I think it will be a helluva game.BAMA has to get by aub first. RTR!!

Bama will beat Allbarn by 3-7 pts.  Florida will be favored by 10.  Your logic on Clemson, UGA and LSU is funny to me....Clemson was #9 at the time and favored by 8.  UGA was favored by 7 and pre-season #1  Bama played like crap for a half agianst LSU who was Top 10 team this year.  Had TD called back and missed FG yet still won in OT.
 
So with your logic....rankings mean nothing at the time you play a team.....glad eveyone will be on UF heavy will just drive the ML bet up as Bama will bet UF.

Alabama plays to level of competition while  Florida runs the score up on everyone. Florida line should be 7-10 pt favorite. Alabama plus the points looks good. That is if Florida beats Florida st.

I guess it just shows to go ya...........the "# 1" team is destined to be a dog vs Florida.

  If you voted in the AP poll, wouldn't you have to make bama the fav in this game? Or at least no worse than a pick 'em?

I agree, Florida would beat up on Bama, but I think the SEC is down this year, there aren't any good team beside these two team. Big 12 seems to be the best conference this year.

You are right Florida played pretty much the same schedule as Bama, the difference was that while Bama was taking turdball teams like LSU into overtime, Florida blew them out like you would expect a national champion-caliber team to do.

I agree Texas and Oklahoma deserve to be #2 and #3 at this point.  But if Florida beats the number 1 ranked team, then they deserve to play in the national championship game, despite the loss to Ole Miss at home.  In most of their games they dominated their opponents and proved that they were a far superior team.
It's starting to look like it could be another year that a worthy team gets screwed by the BCS and denied a shot at the national championship.  But most objective fans (not just "Florida homers") would rather see a 1-loss Florida team playing in the National Championship than two 1-loss Big 12 teams that have already played each other during the season.

You say that LSU hung with Florida for a "brief time" when they played them.  That "brief time" was the opening kickoff in the game that I saw.  I remember a long TD pass on one of the first plays of the game and it was clear early on in the game that LSU would not be able to compete with Florida.

We already know Nick Saban is a great coach.  But there is not too much he can do to make his team faster than Florida.

I think that DoubleUp is making the argument that Florida will have no problem crushing Bama when they finally play head to head, not that Alabama hasn't earned their #1 ranking.

Bama dosent even deserve to be #1 in the nation.  Whatever all that will be taken care of in two weeks!!!!!!

To a pretty good Miss team, I might add. They just beat LSU in Baton Rouge, which impresses the hell outta me (memo to Les Smiles-if you have a qb that can't pass, run the ball more-just a thought).
 
Bama is a damned good team. Only in college football can the #1 ranked team be an underdog..............
 
Saban is brilliant. Look how far he has taken Bama in such a short time. I shudder to think what this team will be like next year.
Meyer is no weiner, either. More like a winner. This guy knows offense like nobody's business. But he seems to think all he has to do on defense is put fast guys out there.
 
Should be a helluva game. I got the O/U on fake kicks at 3.5.......

As a Gator Alumni and insane Gator fan, I might be biased, but Alabama will simple be overmatched the entire game.  Florida will put up points, sure, but it is their defense which is much improved.  Alabama will fail to score 20 points in this game and lose by 10-15.
 
For those who think people drink the SEC coolaid and that Texas and Oklahoma are the best teams in the country, I can say that you might be half right.  Texas, besides Alabama, is the most overrated team in the country.  They played terrible against TT and wouldn't stand a chance against Oklahoma now.  They are too slow to play Florida.
 
Also, Florida lost to Ole Miss.  Yes, there is no denying that.  But Ole Miss is a good football team.  All of their losses this year have been by less than 5 points, and they historically always give the Gators trouble.  That was the only game this year I didn't bet on Florida to cover the spread.  And, if it wasn't for a blocked extra point, the Gators might well have won.

Keep in mind, the team that can score the quickest isn't always the best.  In fact, the team that is used to slowing things down and playing within themselves can have a decisive advantage.  Florida will be out of their comfort zone, the game will have an unusual tempo.  Although, Florida did get to gear up for this one against The Citadel.  NICE SCHEDULING!   Florida fans are jealous of Bama fans because their team didn't lay an egg at home this year.  Give me double digits on Alabama, everone knows that in a big game being the double digit fav is the KISS OF DEATH.

The problem with a lot of the teams that Florida has blown out is that they got down early and freaked out.

Take South Carolina, for example.  Gave up a Pick-six, another INT and quick strike, catching the D off guard.  So what do they do next?  They try some ill-advised backwards pass on the kickoff.  Barely breaking a sweat, Florida is up 21-0.  The Gamecocks basically threw the gameplan out of the window and played catchup the rest of the game.

That will not happen in this game.  This Alabama team and coaching staff is more level-headed than that.  They seem to adjust well to what the other team is doing.  -  Play to the level of competition, so to speak.

Please give me double-digits.  I will gladly take the money.

Nice intangible is that Bama has already played a game AS A BIG "NO WAY IN HELL THEY WIN THIS GAME" DOG agst Clemson in the Ga Dome. Regardless of Clemson's demise this season,NOONE had Bama to win that game. Watch history repeat itself gents. Elephants trample Gators and I am a T A&M fan!! No prejudice or bias here.
 
Take Bama ML if all this fog headed Florida will crush Bama crap carries into nxt weekend. Auburn and Fl St may have ya'll shutting up right quickly about all this though. Don't count your chickens, money, W's, etc., before they..............!!!!!

alabama defense is good, but they've played predictable offenses and no good dual threat qb. bama's defense has had these weak offenses on their heels. gators speed and unpredictability will put bama's defense on their heels. bama's offense will overcompensate for their defensive struggles and make mistakes.
WHICH MAKES THIS A BLOWOUT that you can wager on with confidence. Only way bama wins is if their oline dominates.
other key factors bama will put much more focus on breaking 6 game losing streak to Auburn and when they do beat auburn, bama will be satisfied, not as hungry.

bamafan for 30 years here. if saban earns his 4 mill a year salary, the tide will be ready.If they stumble any to start this game, the gators will hand them their arse.I will be @ the goergia dome for this game along with my son who has been a gator fan since 96. IMO, I think the over will be the best way to go if its 70 points or lower. Think about it, nobody has stopped the gators O since tebow was named starting qb @ the start of last year.That being said, i dont see saban quitting even if its a blowout.THANX FOR THE THREAD DUP4LIFE.

The Rebels suffered threw one of the Worst HC ever in D! NCAA History...

Ole Miss had alot of Injuries on the D-Line before the season started and had they been healthy all year maybe they only lose 1 or 2 games ...

 I think if they played Florida again on a neutral field the Gators would win by 17+,,,, Or More bc Urban would do every thing he Could to Blow this team out after they beat him...

I think Bama is way better than Above average ... Top 5 or 6 for Sure ... But this game will be about Matchups and Florida has Better players across the board... While the Tide's D-Line and LB's are top 5 in the country ....I see Tebow and the Playmakers for the gators being that much better....
