I would love to see Oregon/Fla. Offense the way it's supposed to be played.

Oregon won't win out.  How can you talk about Tennessee being bad yet dismiss Oregons game with Purdue.  Alabama, Texas, and Florida all would physically take Oregon to the woodshed.

Oregon beats a USC team that gave up 36 to OREGON STATE AT HOME and they are now the 2nd best team in the country? Uh...no.

Texas' defense is just as good as Bama's, and the Horns actually have a QB who can throw (although he hasn't performed nearly as well this year as he did last year).

Say what you will about Alabama; Oregon hasn't faced a defensive line with anything near the size that Bama has. Masoli would have to pass for Oregon to beat any of Texas/Florida/Bama/TCU...unfortunately for UO in this hypothetical conversation, 3 of those 4 have elite secondaries.

I would like to see Oregon play Georgia Tech. The scoreboard would literally explode.

wahoo agree it does sounds strange to be comparing Boise St defense over USC given the difference in athletes, i'm probably putting too much weight on last couple weeks against ND, Ore St and Oregon since before those games they were their usual 8 ppg, easy to get spoiled over the years with their dominance so strange now to see them looking sloppy - for one bowl game on a neutral field I'd probably go with USC over Boise 31-20 type after Trojans get over their defensive problems and Barkley continues to advance

as far as Oregon-Florida, although Ducks as good as anyone last couple weeks, still on a neutral field (especially grass) imo Florida takes them 34-21 with solid edges at QB leadership under the gun and quite a bit better athletes on defense, I could be wrong and wish we could see that game, after what Utah did to Bama last year it would be wrong to underestimate Boise, Oregon, etc

it is enjoyable watching the Ducks when their offense is rolling especially when it's to dismantle USC even if only for a year

 Oregon definitely has speed as does the Pac Ten and they are a much improved  team that is playing at a top level.Florida on the other hand has great team speed and experience on both sides of the ball.IMHO the gator defense would be the diference as it has been all year long.    GLTA

All that being said, it would be great to have a system where they could just vote the two best teams in.  The BCS is garbage and has been for years.

Oregon is clicking right now and when an offense like that is playing well it can't be stopped at the college level.  I would love to see how they matchup with a powerhouse like Florida who also has alot of speed and a great coach.

Oregon would beat Iowa by 21 or so

Oregon would beat Cincy

Oregon would beat Boise tommorrow if they played on a neutral

Florida would also beat all of the teams mentioned

 

I know it won't happen and I'm sure that some of you less than intelligent posters will want to argue this, but Oregon and Florida are the best two teams and that is who I would like to see play

I would have to give Florida the slight edge because of experience of being in the big game and Urban is a great coach, but Oregon could give them a game and possibly win

those are the best two teams, like it or not

if your a biased fan then please don't respond, I'm not biased at all to any league or any team, never have been, I just call it like I see it and speak the truth

respectfully disagree that Oregon is 14 points better than Texas. Don't think they would get to 14 unless Colt or the STs gave up a score

There really does need to be a playoff system so some of these teams can redeem a loss. Alot of these progams only beat 1 or maybe two decent teams and want to be in a national title game. And can anybody please tell me why the hell Boise State is still in the WAC? They have dominated this conference for a decade. They should be in the Pac 10, or at the very least the Mountain west to expect ANY sort of recognition for anything that they do.

it is more just my opinion than the truth, I should have worded that different, the "truth" is that none of us will ever know which of us is right until we get a playoff system and that sucks

while I do think the Ducks could beat Bama, I don't think they would beat Florida, I think they could give Florida the best competition though, Florida is the best team though

while we're discussing oregon, let-down or no let-down, doesn't -6 or so seem way too low against Stanford they way Oregon has been playing for several weeks now. 

(also can't figure out the line moving in Tulsa's favor against Houston.  Tulsa's offense has been steadily getting worse, and Houston appears capable of putting up a lot of points on almost anyone)
