College football is decided on the field.  If you play in a decent conference and win your games 9 times out of 10 you’re in the championship game.   I wish they would have an 8 team playoff, but the way they have it now isn’t as bad as some people make it out to be.

Take this season for example. Notre Dame is the only unbeaten left standing (that’s not on probation) and they will play the 12-1 champion of the hardest conference in college football.

    Seems fair to me.

Besides: if there was an 8 team playoff system the SEC would have at least two teams in it every year (hell, at least 4 of the 8 teams would be from the SEC this season).  I seriously doubt the SEC's title count would be much different.

Football is America's pass time. You need to accept this fact instead of walking around bitter about nobody coming to watch you play your non-contact sport in high school.
yes of course I think it's a good way to decide a champ. They also use a tournament in: nfl, nba, MLB, NHL, coll ws, anything! It's how you do it. Coll football draws there natl champs out of a hat. Fraud champs. Sorry bama fans.  Win a championship in bball where a computer doesn't put you there please

Shooter to respond to your last post. Well 2nd to last post. In the nfl the giants were7-7 at one point yet won sb. Nobody complained. Why do you have to be undefeated or one of 7 11-1 teams? Too many teams similar there. Why can't a 10-2 team win a natl title over a 11-1 team?

Also your opinion on fla st and acc. The acc is awful always has been. Sadly I think it's actually better now then in the 90s early 2000s. Fsu isn't really an acc team. They are just stuck there. Talent level is top notch. So Fsu won NATl titles in the 90s, played in a few others they lost in98, 2000 etc. 14 straight top 5 finishes. Why now are people saying they cant play cuz of acc? They got respect back then. Yesterday's game doesn't mean anything. Those teams go back and forth. Fsu won last 2 games

I’m not sure what you’re arguing about in your first paragraph.  I already posted “I wish they would have an 8 team playoff.”

As for your second paragraph: I have no idea what you’re talking about.  At no point in this thread did I even mention FSU or the ACC.

    Osirus-

You just sound like a bitter FSU fan- quit hating on the SEC- really it's pathetic the way you whine about it- If FSU would have won the National Championship then you wouldn't be here saying college football is a fraud sport- get the fu_k out of here with that crap- And you really thing the ACC is better now than in the 90's when FSU was kicking behind on a yearly basis? The fact is FSU used to dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball- that is not the case lately- Two prime examples were yesterday's games where Florida and S. Carolina dominated in the trenches. As much as people hate it- the SEC was 4-0 against the ACC yesterday.

no, I would still say its a fraud. Fsu won it all in 1993, 1999, and lost to Oklahoma in 2000. All though they were good enough I don't know if they deserve bids in those games. So, still a fraud

Yes. The acc is better now than the 90s. As bad as it is now it was awful then. Fsu didn't come close to losing games

SEC is the best on many levels. But ND isn't playing the SEC All Conference Team, as so many posters assume they are from how they talk and rant. ND has the #9 rated SOS, compared to #20 for Alabama. That was before last night's game when ND travelled all across country to play in LA, while Bama stayed in state to demolish a depleted Auburn team. They also went into Norman as 10 point underdogs and won handily. The bottom half of the SEC needs to focus on beating the Sun Belt conference before trashing ND's undefeated record and schedule.

The SEC All Conference Team could probably beat some NFL teams.  I think Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, and A&M by themselves would be enough to beat Notre Dame.

And I find it interesting how you praise Notre Dame then claim “the bottom half of the SEC needs to focus on beating the Sun Belt” when the mighty fighting Irish beat Purdue at home by 3 points, beat BYU at home by 3 points, and beat Pittsburgh at home by 3 points in triple OT.

Florida, Georgia and LSU would all have winning records if they played each of those teams.

In all seriousness I completely disagree. I think that if FL and LSU and Georgia played those teams (especially FL and LSU) than it would be very close but those other teams would win more times than not.

Fl and LSU are good of course but they are nothing special at all.
