I do not understand the line move. I think Cincy is a lot better than people give them credit for. They had a very difficult early schedule losing at Fresno, at NC State and by 2 to Oklahoma. They have an explosive offensive and I just don't see how USF can match up with them. Colaris is hitting 63.4% of his passes and has a 17:3 TD:INT ratio. Their top 3 rushers, Pead, Goebel and Wiilaims have 863 yards on just 107 carries for an 8+ yard per carry average. They have two quality receives in Woods and Binns who have 13 TDs between them.
USF is 3-3 with their 3 wins against Stonybrook, Western Kentucky and Florida Atlantic. Against Florida, Syracuse and West Virginia, they have scored a total of 29 points. Their passing game ranks 107th nationally and QB Daniels has a 4:10 TD:INT ratio.
I made this line Cincy -13.5
Didn't understand that move either...have cinci at 10 and thought it would go up for sure. USF did hold wv to one offenseive TD at home though...24-14

Mountainerrs best RB was playing injured, dumbo the coach couldn't have called a more conservative game plan, and bad weather held them to 24 points, not USF. BOL

Weather wasn't bad at all. 33 carries for 79 yards. USF turned it over 3 times and still held WV to one TD which was basically one guy getting beat deep. The TD wv got before the half was set up on a pick. They bent but didn't break all night. Offense is pathetic but they can play some D. That being said I'm on Cinci. BOL

Playing Devil's Advocate: South Florida does, in fact, have a solid defense (15th against the pass and 44th against the run). They also allow just 3.9 yards per run and less than 60% completion percentage against. South Florida's defense also picks off over 1 pass per game and Cincy puts the ball on the turf almost 3 times per game.
Also, with Holtz coming out and saying if they had any experience at all at QB they would have already benched Daniels is pretty shocking, I'm really interested to see how Daniels responds. If you have read anything from me you know that I have said he sucks all year long. Supposedly South Florida is simplifying the offense yet again and might even let Daniels scramble (which is what he has been wanting to do all season).
That West Virginia score is very deceiving and its hard to trust a Cincy defense who basically interecepts NOONE getting a turnover and giving their offense a short field.
So Cincy (who is prone to turnovers especially fumbles and penalties - they commit over SIX offensive penalties a game) is going to have to go length of the field against a top-20 scoring defense in the country. So you can certainly make a case for taking South Florida and the points in this game IMO. It certainly isn't the slam dunk that some feel it will be.

Nothing but respect for your opinion and arguments. I mitigate some of what the statistical analysis because of the level of competition both teams have played. It's similar to a horse race. I can have a low level claiming horse running that has won 10 of 15 races against a horse running in open classes who has won one for fifteen and the stats mean little. After Cincy's loss to Fresno, I heard from people close to the program that there was terrible dissension on the team and that things were imploding. The same people recently reported that the ship has been righted and this team is beginning to gel. Their efforts against Fresno, NC State and Oklahoma were light years ahead of any effort I see from USF. USF amassed most of their positive stats against Stonybrook, Western Kentucky and Florida Atlantic, three teams they beat by a combined 114-29. Therefore, I think there numbers are skewed and if you focus on their 3 games against Florida, Syracuse and West Virginia when they have been outscored 71-29, the numbers are not that impressive at all. I could be wrong, but Cincy moved the ball quite impressively against Oklahoma which has a lot more impressive defense that USF. And as you mentioned, Daniels is awful and looks mentally defeated right now.

I'm with you and on Cincy -7 for 1-unit just wanted to throw out the other side of the argument! Stay red-hot!

Glad to see others with insight on Covers. Can't understand why this line wasn't +10 or +11... go Bearcats.
Good luck GH - glad to see your posting picks again.
