Bye teams now 0-5

Honestly has me rethinking some plays tomorrow. I still don’t understand how these teams don’t come out motivated(I understand an extended layoff from live action can be tough), but you’re playing for your season. Maybe the tide will turn tomorrow.

 I been saying Indiana for weeks…… and now I’m second guessing. Georgia is the only team on a bye I would feel confident in at this point. But Cignetti probably been on his guys every day for the last month

Oregon is a fraud. Ole Miss just doesn’t match up well with UGA. Smart makes the best adjustments in football after a half. 

The Big 10 is completely 1000% fraudulent. Complete fraud.

Ohio St didn't smoke anyone. They provide the first loss for the Big10. 

You can’t even count bowl games with opt outs its a bunch of equipment managers filling in! 

Hoosier HC Cignetti is the Best Thing about their chances...He will learn much from OSU 's dismal performance tonight...he WILL have his team Ready and Focused in Rose Bowl

 He's out of the loop for sure about the bye and long layoff. Consider though the matchups too, that's probably more important than the long layoff. Miami had the defense and if Carson Beck played well and just managed the game, they could beat Ohio State, really anyone, Miami winning is not a fluke. I like Texas Tech to break the 0-5 streak today. If their defense plays to their potential, and the offense doesn't turn the ball over, winning the almighty TO battle like Miami did, Red Raiders should move on.

 Well Boise and Arizona St had no business being seeded there so those data points are useless, Ohio State was waiting for Oregon in a revenge game…so that data point is useless.. you should have been 3-0 picking those games…so if you want to toot your horn over 0-2, then do so…again your data to prove your useless point is as irrelevant as you, meanwhile smart people gamble and win accordingly…a whopping true 0-2, Whoopie dooo..even if you lost those two games you would still be up with your 0-5 math

regardless of how people felt about where teams ended up, facts are that the bye teams are 0-5 to date after the long layoff.

The problem is the playoff committee is totally incompetent.  The long layoff is not the problem, it is an excuse.  When the playoff committee keeps gifting byes to teams who have not earned a bye.  That any Big 10 team had a bye this season is utterly ridiculous,  Indiana is going to get beat even worse the OSU did.  Is that because of a long layoff.  No, it has to do with seeding the teams incorrectly.  There should be no rankings, and when the last whistle blows on the regular season, the committee should select the top 12 teams, and those teams should be seeded based strictly off of strength of schedule.  The team that played the hardest schedule gets the #1 Seed, etc.  That would fix the problem.

 Was even worse last year when they allowed Arizona St and Boise a bye when they should have been seeded at the bottom, screwed the entire playoffs up and awarded Ohio St a semi fraudulent title..at least the seeding order was right this year, but yes still messed up for allowing Tulane and James Madison in…such a joke

The main difference was a bad lucky break, pick 6 by Miami..

Interesting conversation and interesting stat - but I dont think it is anything predictive.  Need more than 5 games to start incorporating it in to your thinking IMO.  No real reason that I have heard that makes sense for this to be causation.
