Not sure the books have caught on to the Terps. The issue with the Terps historically is that they don't play well with a lead so I think the books know they are playing well but keep expecting them to choke one away.
I saw a stat yesterday somewhere that was something like the Terps ACC wins last year (7) were by a total 43 points. The last three ACC games, the Terps have won by a total of 62 points. This is ateam that appears to be comfortable beating someone's ass when they can and not letting off the pedal.

As an FYI....in last year's game when the Terps gone blown out at Littlejohn, the starters scored 59 points. 45 of those points contributed will not be playing today (Oglesby, Rivers and Stitt)
11 of the 49 points the Terps starters scored will be missing today (David Neal). Anyone who knows the Terps knows replacing Neal with Jordan Williams is about three steps forward. He is not your typical freshman!

Here is what we know also:
At NCSU, Stitt went down and Clemson blew a 16 point lead when he left and barely held on for the win. At BC in their last game out, Stitt missed the entire game, the only full game he has missed so far. Though the final score was "ok", BC was up 20 points in the game. This is a BC team that the Terps punished in Boston. Just saying.....

As for the venue, here are some thoughts:
Yes, Littlejohn gets loud. I don't consider it anywhere close to Cameron or Dean Dome tough to play in but tougher than the morgue Miami and BC call home. I don't think it's any tougher than Wake's place where I thought we played well and should/could have pulled it out.
I think the game will start with the crowd doing everything they can to pull the Tigers through. However, if the Terps can get up, I could see the fans sitting on their hands since things are not real positive at Clemson right now. Don't believe it, go to their message board. Most of them think the only chance they have to win is with Stitt playing and "the next game we win is the first game Stitt plays and is healthy."
If we jump on their throats early, the game could be alot easier.

I am not a believer in the Terps, but I do like them in this spot, with or without Stitt. I hit them hard immediately last night +5 when the line came out.
They are doing a terrific job of taking care of the ball this year and you need to do that in Littlejohn. I think the terps have a great chance to shred the Clemson pressure every time the Tigers score. If the full court game is equalized, Maryland will certainly do a better job scoring in the halfcourt game. Clemson has looked helpless at times when then are forced to play halfcourt offense.
I don't understand the case for Clemson. . .other than the fact that the Tigers blitzed the Terps last year. Keep in mind though that Clemson shot lights out in that game (they made 12 threes) but Maryland still DID NOT turn it over (which is a good sign for this game). Clemson got a lot of points off of offensive rebounds and Maryland has the big man in there now that can take that away. Sometimes you just run into a shooting buzzsaw. Maryland lacked a little defensive effort in that game too, and I bet Coach Williams reminded them of that in practice this week. If you watched that game last year, you will remember that Maryland broke Clemson's press every time with ease and then blew about 500 layups.
Unless Maryland just lays an egg, I don't think Clemson is going to get the turnovers they need to run away with this one, so for me it's take the points or nothing. If Stitt doesn't play it's a huge bonus.

Boom-
I have to disagree with some of what you just said:
First Clemson goes 6"6, 6"7" and 6"8 ain the frontcourt with big men that play. Terps are 6'7", 6'8", 6'10". If anything, the Terps are bigger.
Next, BC's "big bodies"....am I missing something? The big bodies that shut Clemson down so well at BC got SMOKED in Boston by the Terps. So much for controlling the game and big bodies.
Clemson has 0 consistent outside shooter. That's a HUGE problem as the Terps will sag and double Booker down low (see what we did to NCSU, Collins from Miami, etc).
Sorry man but Clemson is the team that will be lucky to win this one. They will need alot of things to go their way to pull it out.

This was from an article before the first game Clesmon had to play WITHOUT Stitt. Pay particular attention to the bolded aprt about them not having many options beyond Young other than a guy who can play "around t.v. timeouts....WTF?" ![]()
Sophomore Andre Young will make his start of the season in Stitt’s place at the point guard spot.
“It’s probably the best thing right now for me as a player and for us as a team,” Stitt said.
Behind Young, the options are limited.
“He’s got to be prepared to go wire to wire,” Purnell said. “We’ll kind of adjust from there. We’ll play without a point guard, if we’ve got to use (Zavier Anderson) for a couple of minutes around a TV time-out, we’ll do what we need to do.”
The 11.2 points per game missing with Stitt on the bench will have to be found elsewhere.

stitt will play today and you don't talk like this when you are going into somebody elses house
I mean, I don't understand why people making such a big deal whether he's in the lineup or not," Vasquez said. "I thought he wasn't a big difference last year. I thought they got K.C. Rivers, which was a way better ball-handler than him. I think the guy (Stitt) is good, give him credit, but, I mean, I don't think it's any difference, you know what I'm saying? We're ready to play Clemson, and if we talk about difference, maybe if Booker is out, that's a big difference. I mean, Stitt is a good player, you've got to give him credit, but I mean, we're not intimidated of him being out of or in the lineup. I mean, who is he in terms of the best players in the ACC? We're just trying to play a good game and just win this game."
from the washington post yesterday this alone will make me bet Clemson and some other factors as well

Bookie Killer:
Are you Stitt's Dad? Becuase according to Stitt and the training staff YESTERDAY, he is very doubtful, just took the boot off and can't push off. Why do you say he is playing? Maybe you are Stitt?
As for GV's comments, you have to have the talent to make someone pay for trash talking. Not sure the Tigers have the bullets in their collective gun to make a very good GV pay.
I would not bet the Tigers becuase GV did what he always does, run his mouth. He has a dangerous habit of backing it up......

In Thursday night's victory over the Virginia Cavaliers at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Allen was ejected for elbowing Jeff Jones in the face. The officials ruled it a flagrant personal foul, the penalty for which is an ejection.
Allen was not suspended by athletic director Jim Weaver on Friday -- nor by the ACC.
"I didn't even think it warranted what it got," Weaver said.
"But he was ejected from the game, which is the penalty that goes with the call the officials made, and that's it. ... I happened to see that part [on TV]. ... It wasn't a flagrant foul."
Weaver suspended Allen for one game last season for making an obscene gesture to fans in a game at Maryland.
"Last year when I suspended Jeff Allen, it was for an entirely different type of situation," Weaver said.
In 2006, Weaver suspended Deron Washington for one game for kicking Lee Melchionni in the face.
Washington was ejected for a flagrant foul.
Two years ago, the ACC suspended Allen for two games for bumping an official in a game at Georgia Tech. ACC associate commissioner Karl Hicks said Allen's track record was not a factor in the league's decision whether or not to suspend Allen on Friday.
"We look at the incident itself as isolated and we determine whether ... something more substantial is warranted," Hicks said.
"In this particular instance, we felt the officials handled it 100 percent correctl
