My point here is that once again a Bill Self team saw a small school on the opposing jersey and his team didn't have enough respect for them to show up. His teams think they're entitled to win by just showing up.

Ok. But how does that explain not playing good defense in the first half on VCU ? They weren't hustling and weren't getting to the shooters on the 3 pt line. They were lazy - they just assumed the shots wouldn't go in. And the turnovers were ridiculous. One thing to be cold from the 3 pt line, another to go 15 of 28 from the FT line. That's inexcusable.

Good discussion, mmac, I'm going to bed. I stay away from Self teams in the tourney, but when I saw that VCU had only two 2 point FG's at the half and everything else was 3's and FT's, I bit on Kansas at the half bigtime. Then, I took more live in-game. I also had the chance to middle it and win big by taking VCU at +200 when Kansas closed the gap to 4 or 2 midway in the 2nd hald, but got greedy and didn't bite. So, I'm a little bitter, too. As you can tell.

KU's guards were completely outplayed. No wing guy who can take the 3 AND beat you off the dribble. Read & Morningstar are what they are, nice roll players w/o real athleticism. VCU at this point in the season is just a better team. With the better coach.
