Jim you make good plays I know you fade the public in the right spots. Like Arizona yeasterday in NFL. You've been doing this long enough to know posts on a message board don't effect outcomes of games.

I'm so glad the refs are turning this into a fucking foul shooting contest...god damn this is the Big East can we let these fucking kids play basketball?

The refs made a point to not let this game get going. I've never seen a big east crew so quick on the whistle. Was there almost a fight in the first half?

Johnny Utah....of course a forum on Covers.com doesn't affect the outcome of a game. That's not what I said.
However, there are a shitload of poster on this site. Coming on here and reading all the different posts and opinions gives one a pretty good idea of what the public is thinking/doing. I know...the sample size is small and around 100 or so...but it still gives a good indicator of what most are doing. On a normal basis...you see posts playing both sides...however, you many times see 9 out of 10 playing a side...like Ville tonight or GB in NFL yesterday.....most times these lose. I don't completely trust the consensus sites that are out there....who know what these online books want us to see. There's just so much information available to the average gambler these days it's crazy....I just don't trust it 100%. However...I do trust what people post and say they're playing on this forum.

tressel has it right i believe. people know that the unranked trend has been hitting a ton and they see louisville unranked and minus and take it. the book posts the majority on nova (as a lie) and people wanna be "sharp" and take louisville. same thing gonna happen with this bedlam game. big tv games you should just use this place as fade material.

Nova won because they were the better team, not because of anything that was said on Covers.
BUT, I agree, you can say that Nova was a good bet to COVER because of the public making the line more likely for Nova to cover.
Just like the public made AZ a good bet vs the Packers as the public ran it to AZ +3. GB still could have been the better team and won by a FG in OT, but if you had +3 you would have gotten the push - courtesy of the public line movement. So AZ became the smarter play as a result of the big public play on GB.

wrong, aren't you aware that every college player reads posts on covers.com before they play a game?
these threads have an obvious impact on every major sporting event...not just college.
