Been looking over this game for awhile now, my initial lean bein Wash. St.  plust the points.. however,

UNC been putting up 100 a game in the tourney, Wash. St. certainly cannot keep up with that..

Wash. St. hasn't really beat anyone that I can see, and they have losses to Arizona by 10 and 12 points, and they've lost to UCLA by around 8 points each time as well.  Arizona, well, sucks imo, and UCLA isn't near the offensive machine that UNC is..

UNC is the best team in the field right now - Lawson has that offense running at full speed now and until someone slows them down I really don't see why they don't beat the piss out of teams by 10+ throughout..

ya wise ass you should tend to give a little more credit to what wash st did in a good conference then unc dominating a joke conference.  unc got a number one overall seed because they won what was supposed to be an "elite" conference if they knew how bad the acc was they wouldnt have been the number one seed overall.  plus there getting too much credit for wiping out arkansas who was from a conference even worse then the acc.

teams results in a single elimination tourney do not have any correlation to how good the conference really is

if your logic were true, the big 10 would be the 1st or 2nd best conference?

i should tend to give more credit to what wash st did in a good conference?  i thought i already acknowledged their performance in that "good" conference - losing by 10 and 12 to ARIZONA and losing by 7 and 8 to UCLA.

I know alot of people like wash st., some who seem dead on fading the public. That ill bite you in the ass eventually.

    IMO
Wash st has an anemic offense and have lost to stanford 3X,
zona2x, and ucla 2x. thats 0-7 against thses tourny teams.
Those wins were by an avg. of 7 points, which is close to the total.

haven't seen wash. st. much this year honestly, so, how exactly are they supposed to slow down the best offensive team in the country?

I love how people say that WashingtonState has an anemic offense, yet WSU is 14th in the country in offense efficiency, and 19th in the country in 2-pt FG%.  Yeah, thats one shitty offense.

UNC is 26th in the nation in defensive efficiency, while WSU is 6th.

The best team previously that UNC has played against that has a similar defensive efficiency is Virginia Tech, and they struggled, scoring 68 points and winning by just 2 in the ACC tourney.  And WSU has a superior offense to Virginia Tech.

The line should actually be about 4-5, but because of the publics blindness, and all you square bettors see is that UNC scored 100+ in two straight games, and WSU can't score that, so they'll lose by alot.

It's gonna end up coming down to the last shot... should be a great game, and so many of you are gonna lose a lotta money.

    IMO
Wash st has an anemic offense and have lost to stanford 3X,
zona2x, and ucla 2x. thats 0-7 against thses tourny teams.
Those wins were by an avg. of 7 points, which is close to the total.

    Something to think about
this pretty well sums it up.......playing against a UNC team that scored 100+ pts in their last 2 games...... basically a home game for the 'Heels..........this, to me REEKS of a blowout........North Carolina -8

There also 10-0 in the other 10 games they've faced against NCAA teams.

Laverty, I think you have a lot to learn about capping college basketbal games - to say that "this game will come down to a last shot" is, well, moronic.  You don't know how the game is going to end, I don't know - no one knows - i hate when people come in here and say overstatements like this.

Please realize that you must cap basketball games by taking into account likelihoods and trends - it is likely that north carolina is going to get their points - they get about 90 a game.  we know what we are likely to get out of UNC - but what can we get out of Washington St..?   are we gonna get the team that loses to tournament teams by an average of 7 points?  or are we gonna get a solid defensive game out of them?

people also forget that lawson is at full speed now, he is the most valuable point guard in the nation, he pushes the tempo and is probably the quickest guard in the nation coast to coast...

who will guard him? low? hamerling? haha, thats funny, and who guards hansborough, baynes? haha, we saw what happened last game when an ugly white boy tries to guard em...

First of all duchebag do me a favor and leave out moronic next time you comment one of my statements in a sport forum. I was listing there strongest tournry competors in IMO as stated. I could of put usc and oregon and gonzaga, but I was trying to only state their losses and by how much.  Also as I stated those losse were by an avg of 7 point, so in know way did I suggest a blow out.

Do me a favor when you respond, have some class.

    You are a fuckin joke.

YOU need to learn how to cap games.

Washington State is 10-7 against tourney teams...

UNC beats up on bad defensive teams, and struggles against good defensive teams.

They put up just 68 against Va Tech in the ACC tourney, a team that is not as good of a defensive team as Washington State.

Washington State has given up over 75 points once this year... and that was the game against UCLA where they fouled ofr the last 3 minutes.  So now all of a sudden they're going to give up 90 points?

Notre Dame was a top 25 offensive team in the country, and Wash. State gave up 41 points to them.

Another stat for ya ass, whcih you should know since you're trying to tell me how to cap (LOLOL), Washington State has not had any game this year with more then 64 possessions/team.  They control tempo like no other team can.  In order for UNC to score 90 if they get 65 possessions, they have to have a offensive efficiency of 140.    Washington State is the 6th best defensive team in the country, you really think thats gonna happen?  There defensive effiency is 86.7!!!!!!!!!!

Don't ever talk to me like I don';t know shit about capping college basketball.  I been doing this, and very successful, for quite some time now.  You're just a square bettor.

Arizona is a better team then USC, Oregon and Gonzaga?  Even Baylor is debatable.   And Notre Dame is a lot better team then Arizona.   Don't just throw in stats to make a point.  Its ignorant and deceiving.

i am leaning towards wsu, should be interesting to see what unc does against a good defense, possibly one the best that they have faced this season, the wsu defense has turned it up in the last couple of weeks. based on unc's games against above average defenses the games have been fairly close.

Lol, really didn't take much to get you fired up, internet forum tough guy.  You come into my thread telling people exaclty how the game is going to end, without offering any valuable insight to the discussion and you're gonna get flamed.. i never said UNC is gonna cover the spread, I never said I was taking UNC

Please read the title of the thread.. very slowly please..

Ok.. did you understand it?  In this thread we are discussing whether or not is that valuable to take WSU tonight

And in discussing this, I've addressed the fact that UNC can (and will) get their points.

Yes, we know ACC might be weaker than Pac 10 - but I would make the argument that UNC would be the best team in the Pac 10.

That said, exactly what has WSU done against the Pac 10 elite?

I have to say at this point in the tourney I am on the offensive team. WSU is great defense, NO O.

There is no way in the universe they hold UNC to a shooting experience like they did ND. ND was over rated, and UNC is clicking right now. IF UNC is up 3 with 4 to go, watch Coach turn the volume up and blow them the F out. WSU can only win if they hold this team to 60. If they hold them to 60 Roy will have a fit, and pass out dead on the court. NOT HAPPENING today fellas.

finally, some a voice of reason.
