I am new here but I like your strategy of looking at the smaller less scrutinized conferences. I always end up picking football games better in the MAAC and C-USA than in the big conferences. Looking forward to reading your stuff throughout the season.

FYI - I'm going to the UTSA exhibition basketball game tonight, I have their game next Friday with UTEP as a possible play against (if there is even a line on that game), so I'll let everyone know what I'm seeing

Excellent post...I mainly bet hockey and take the same approach. Used to be  an "action" bettor and when it got to the point I couldn't watch a game without betting it and would lose all the money I won with my well thought out plays, I stopped gambling for 2 years and came back with much the same strategy as you employ.

I'll check  out your posts and maybe tag along a bit..the only thing I know about basketball is it involves an orange ball and some announcer on TV who likes to say "________ baby" a lot.
