Prediction markets have officially entered their celebrity endorsement era.
What had been a relatively niche corner of finance, crypto, and online wagering is now fighting for mainstream attention with the same weapon sportsbooks have used for years: famous people.
Some of these stars are appearing in commercials. Others have become long-term brand ambassadors. A few have taken equity in the companies themselves. Active athletes such as LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo add another layer of complexity because the same prediction platforms sponsoring them can offer contracts tied to professional sports.
This tracker follows the biggest prediction-market celebrity endorsements and athlete sponsorships, as well as investors, in Polymarket, Kalshi, Novig, and more. We’ll update it as new campaigns and partnerships are announced.

Why celebrity prediction market endorsements suddenly exploded
Prediction markets apps are spending heavily on recognizable faces for a straightforward reason: the category has moved from explaining itself to fighting for customers.
That change accelerated in 2026.
Prediction-market advertising surged around the NFL season, with platforms including Kalshi, Polymarket and Novig competing for attention alongside sportsbooks and other event-contract providers.
Celebrity marketing solves another problem: explaining the product.
Event contracts, designated contract markets, and binary contracts settling at $1 aren't exactly Super Bowl-commercial language. Put LeBron James, Sydney Sweeney or Lionel Messi in front of the camera, and the sales pitch becomes much simpler.
The celebrity becomes the category introduction.
And increasingly, the relationship goes beyond collecting a check for appearing in a commercial.
Sydney Sweeney and Novig: From celebrity endorser to equity partner
No prediction-market campaign in 2026 generated more immediate controversy than Sydney Sweeney's “Just Sports” advertisement for Novig.

Announced Sept. 9, the campaign depicts Sweeney using sporting equipment to strategically cover herself while delivering a tongue-in-cheek pitch for Novig's sports-only focus.
A significant business detail underpins the provocation: Sweeney isn't merely the actress in the commercial. She's an owner.
Novig says Sweeney joined the company as both a strategic partner and equity holder, and reporting around the campaign indicates that she approached the company about working together rather than simply responding to a traditional celebrity endorsement offer.
That makes the Sydney Sweeney Novig deal one of the clearest examples yet of prediction markets using equity to recruit celebrity talent.
The idea is obvious: if the campaign works, the celebrity can share in the company's upside rather than collecting only an appearance fee.
Why the Sydney Sweeney Novig ad became controversial
The advertisement also demonstrated the risks of going viral.
Female athletes, including Olympic swimmer Ariarne Titmus, British sprinter Amy Hunt, and others, criticized the campaign, arguing that it sexualized women rather than celebrating female athletic achievement. Some responded by posting footage of women training and competing under variations of the phrase, “This is what a woman in sport looks like.”
The backlash hasn't stopped the campaign from generating enormous attention. Business Insider reported a ninefold increase in Novig's social-media mentions after the ad, while Sweeney's equity position means she has far more at stake than a typical commercial spokesperson.
That may be the bigger story.
LeBron James leads Polymarket's celebrity blitz
One day before Novig unveiled Sweeney's campaign, Polymarket rolled out its own celebrity-heavy push.
Its centerpiece: LeBron James entering a fictional office known as “Polymarket HQ.” Inside, seemingly everybody is there:
- Eli Manning
- Derek Jeter
- Richard Sherman
- Reggie Bush
- Rajon Rondo
- Sue Bird
- Spike Lee
- John Leguizamo
- Craig Robinson
- Emily Ratajkowski
- Alexandra Daddario
Polymarket's own video credits more than a dozen athletes and entertainers in the commercial. James had teased the partnership several days earlier on X and Instagram, with a representative saying his Polymarket work would focus on football. That distinction is important because James remains an active NBA player. His previous DraftKings relationship had similarly been built around football rather than NBA wagering.
Kalshi has built the deepest celebrity roster
If Polymarket went for an all-star commercial and Novig went for one attention-dominating celebrity, Kalshi took a different approach: it built a roster.
Bryson DeChambeau becomes Kalshi's first athlete ambassador
Bryson DeChambeau became Kalshi's first individual athlete partner in January 2026. The deal included television advertising, social posts, branded content, live appearances, and promotions. Kalshi also planned markets related to events in which DeChambeau competed. Financial terms were not publicly disclosed.
A sportsbook sponsoring an athlete is already familiar territory. A prediction exchange sponsoring an athlete while also hosting markets tied to that athlete's performances raises new integrity and marketing questions.
DeChambeau's LIV Golf status also gives Kalshi more freedom than it might have with a PGA Tour player. The PGA Tour's endorsement policy restricts gambling-company sponsorships and requires approval for gambling partnerships.
Kalshi's celebrity list keeps growing
By summer, Kalshi's marketing operation had expanded well beyond DeChambeau.
Actor Timothée Chalamet appeared in a major campaign during the World Cup period. Colombian music star J Balvin signed what Kalshi described as a broader creative partnership and starred in a World Cup commercial.
The soccer strategy was even more aggressive, as Kalshi partnered with Argentina's national federation and benefited from a promotional Instagram post by Lionel Messi. It separately partnered with Croatia, with captain Luka Modrić formally named a global ambassador for the tournament.
Then came football and tennis season.
Former tennis star Pete Sampras appeared in a Kalshi campaign built around “making” rather than simply accepting odds, while former NFL star Marshawn Lynch was featured in another round of advertising. Kalshi has not publicly characterized the Sampras deal as a long-term ambassador arrangement, so he is best classified as a campaign star for now.
Prediction Market Celebrity Endorsements FAQ
Which celebrities endorse prediction markets?
Major celebrity and athlete partnerships in 2026 include Sydney Sweeney with Novig, LeBron James with Polymarket, and Bryson DeChambeau, Giannis Antetokounmpo, J Balvin, and Luka Modrić with Kalshi. Lionel Messi has also appeared in a Kalshi promotion connected to its partnership with Argentina's football federation.
Is Sydney Sweeney an owner of Novig?
Yes. Novig describes Sydney Sweeney as a strategic partner and equity holder, not simply a paid spokesperson. She also helped develop the company's “Just Sports” campaign.
Does LeBron James endorse Polymarket?
Yes. James announced a Polymarket partnership in September 2026 and starred in the company's “Polymarket HQ” campaign alongside numerous former athletes and entertainers. His representative said the partnership would focus on football.
Is Giannis Antetokounmpo an investor in Kalshi?
Yes. Antetokounmpo became a Kalshi shareholder in February 2026. His partnership includes marketing and live-event appearances, although he is restricted from trading NBA-related markets
Does Lionel Messi endorse Kalshi?
Messi participated in Kalshi marketing connected to the platform's official partnership with the Argentine Football Association during the 2026 World Cup, including promoting a Kalshi giveaway on Instagram. That is more accurately described as an AFA-linked promotional activation than a separately announced individual long-term ambassador deal.
Can athletes endorse prediction markets?
It depends on the athlete's league and the promotion's nature. NBA players can participate in certain gaming-company endorsements under restrictions contained in the league's collective bargaining agreement. NFL personnel face substantially tighter gambling-promotion restrictions, while the PGA Tour requires approval and imposes limitations on gambling-company sponsorships
Are prediction markets the same as sportsbooks?
Not structurally. Traditional sportsbooks generally set odds and take the opposite side of customer wagers. Prediction exchanges use event contracts whose prices can fluctuate as participants buy and sell. However, sports event contracts can closely resemble sports wagers from a consumer's perspective, which is one reason their regulatory treatment remains contested.
