The Winnipeg Blue Bombers finally secured their first win of the season last week, ousting the Ottawa Redblacks 25-16 in front of their home fans.
Brady Oliveira played the biggest role in Winnipeg's offense gaining traction, and my Stampeders vs. Blue Bombers predictions expect the bruising running back to remain the focal point of their attack in Week 6.

My analysis
What a difference a week can make for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Following an unsightly 0-4 start that included many injuries, the Bombers finally got into the win column in Week 5, limiting the Ottawa Redblacks to 280 yards of net offense and collecting three sacks on defense.
And while backup quarterback Chris Streveler only completed 13-of-21 passing attempts for 127 yards in Zach Collaros' absence, Winnipeg was a force rushing the ball.
Running back Brady Oliveira is coming off his best performance of the season, seeing 23 carries on the ground that went for 129 yards. Last year's Most Outstanding Canadian will now face a Calgary Stampeders defense that is getting carved up in the run game, allowing 103.5 yards per game and a league-worst 6.1 yards per attempt.
Although Collaros' return may scare bettors into expecting a pass-first attack, fear not. Before the two-time MOP was sidelined with a thorax injury, Collaros held a dismal 69.5 passer rating through four starts, which included zero touchdown passes and four interceptions.
Head coach Mike O'Shea won't abandon the run game on Friday, not after it just secured Winnipeg their first win of the season.

Stampeders vs Blue Bombers same-game parlay (SGP)
I'm expecting Oliveira and the Bombers' offense to dominate time of possession with the rushing attack, and this works wonders for the second leg of our SGP.
Stampeders QB Jake Maier has struggled against Winnipeg's defense in recent starts. Although Calgary managed to defeat Winnipeg in Week 4, Maier averaged only 5.6 yards per pass for 239 yards.
Additionally, the Stamps' gunslinger never surpassed 200 yards in any of his three starts against the Bombers last year — finishing 14-of-25 for 122 in Week 5, 11-of-24 for 190 in Week 11, and 6-of-15 for 110 in Calgary's regular-season finale.
Despite the 1-4 start, Winnipeg also remains extremely stingy on defense, ranking first in opponent completion percentage (64.1) and second in passing yards allowed (251.0).
