My Lions vs Roughriders pick: Roughriders -2.5 (-125 at BET99)
The BC Lions were fortunate to escape the West Semi-Final on a walk-off field goal. They were outgained 476-298 by the Stampeders, but the Leos got huge plays on special teams, and some lucky bounces went their way as well.
Now they're on the road against a well-rested Saskatchewan Roughriders squad that's been the best team in the CFL all year. The Riders haven't played a meaningful game since October 10, which has allowed their banged-up receivers and defensive backs to get healthy.
Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing in Regina on Saturday. That plays right into the hands of the Riders, who have an elite rushing attack led by A.J. Ouellette, along with the league's best run defence.
Meanwhile, the Leos play their home games indoors and aren't as suited for cold-weather contests. They've struggled to defend the run, and star RB James Butler is questionable with an ankle injury. Even if he plays, he'll be less than 100%, which we saw last week when he was held to 25 yards on seven carries.
Both teams have explosive passing games, but the Riders have the superior stop unit, especially at linebacker and in the secondary. Expect them to lean on the ground game and defense to cover.

The Lions lead the league in nearly every offensive category during the regular season thanks to MOP favorite Nathan Rourke. That said, their vulnerable defense has led to the Over going 11-2 in their last 13 games.
The Over also cashed in the first two meetings between these teams this year. Although they finished just below the total in Week 21, that was with Saskatchewan pulling Ouellette and QB Trevor Harris in the second quarter.
