After putting a 58-36 beating on Toronto in Week 5, the Calgary Stampeders make the long trip east to Percival Molson Stadium to face the 3.5-point-favored Montreal Alouettes on Saturday evening.

The 2026 CFL season has been one for the Overs, and my Stampeders vs. Alouettes predictions anticipate another high-scoring affair.

Find out more in my CFL picks for July 11.

Who will win Stampeders vs Alouettes: Montreal -3.5 (-110)

Although the Montreal Alouettes are just 2-2 ATS to start the season, the results don't necessarily reflect how those games have gone.

The Alouettes were -2.5 road favorites heading into Edmonton, where they faced the Elks in a monsoon and eventually lost in overtime after a questionable turnover call.

A week later, they were in complete control of the game vs. Ottawa until a last-minute kickoff return touchdown led to one of the most unexpected backdoor covers I have seen in a long time.

Montreal could just as easily have been 4-0 ATS to start this season, and I'm confident the Alouettes will come away with the win vs. the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday night.

Playable to -120.

Stampeders vs Alouettes total prediction: Over 62.5 (-120)

The Montreal receiving duo of Tyson Philpot and Tyler Snead projects for the highest target share of any teammates in the league at 56%, and they should feast on a Calgary defence that has allowed an unusually high 9.1 yards per target to opposing receivers after allowing just 8.5 YPT over the past three seasons.

On the other side of the ball, Montreal is surrendering the second-most yards per carry (5.4) to opposing offences this year, and Calgary is built to take advantage of that with running back Dedrick Mills producing 5.7 yards per carry.

Everything here leans to an offensive shootout that should clear the 62.5-point total, and I’d even be interested in sprinkling alt-lines up to Over 66.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Calgary and Montreal are combining for full game totals of 74.25 points per game in 2026, and Sunday's O/U sits nearly 12 points below their scoring average. Over 62.5 offers great value.

Stampeders vs Alouettes same-game parlay

I’m confident in the Over at 62.5 as an easy addition to this SGP.

If you swap from the spread to the Montreal moneyline at -218, the payout drops to just +164 from +238, so I’m willing to lay the extra point and take the value.

Stampeders vs Alouettes SGP

  • Alouettes -3.5
  • Over 62.5

Stampeders vs Alouettes weather

The forecast in Montreal is for 25C, clear skies, and low winds of 5-15 kph. It should be a perfect night for the passing attacks to run up the score.

From an early age, Ben had a strong desire to mix his love of sports and making money. His first taste of the action came around age eight while helping his dad try to win his office NHL auction draft. By the time he was in high school, he was running a profitable weekly NFL pool while taking bets from both staff and students at his school. His awards in vocal jazz and competitive physics exams gave him numerous career paths to pursue following high school, so the obvious choices were degrees in philosophy and New Testament theology at Briercrest College and Seminary.

His big opportunity to step into the sports content provider world opened up when DraftKings began offering CFL contests in 2016 and he was the only person in the world who knew what both DFS and the CFL were. He quickly made his way from posting in the forums on DailyRoto.com to writing weekly articles, and shortly thereafter, becoming the provider of statistical projections and fantasy/gaming content on the CFL league website, with weekly shows on the Sportsnet radio network. He spent three years creating CFL and CFB prop projections at Unabated.com and he currently publishes CFL fantasy and props projections on his Substack, Onside CFL Fantasy & Props.

Ben helped many families pay for vacations through betting CFL player props, and spends his days stalking the CFL prop offerings on bet365.
