Davis Alexander leads Montreal to victory!

We could be witnessing history Saturday in Edmonton, as Montreal pivot Davis Alexander leads the Alouettes against the Elks.

A victory would tie the CFL record for most consecutive starts with a win (14), even more impressive as he's yet to lose a start in his CFL career.

With that in mind, my Alouettes vs. Elks predictions and CFL picks welcome history, and an Als win that moves them to 3-0 on the year.

Alouettes vs Elks prediction

Alouettes vs Elks best bet: Alouettes -3 (-110)

The Edmonton Elks start is encouraging, but I'm not buying league-low passing yards allowed after one game.

Davis Alexander should expose it. The Montreal Alouettes quarterback leads the CFL with 777 passing yards and already carved up the Elks last year for 254 yards and three touchdowns before exiting early in a 38-28 win.

The Elks are still trying to prove last year's league-worst offense is behind them. I trust Alexander and the Alouettes far more in a game that could be decided through the air.

I'd play Montreal up to -4.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL:  Alouettes QB Davis Alexander has yet to lose a start in the CFL, with 13 straight wins. He leads the CFL in yards and TD passes and should outscore the Elks.

Alouettes vs Elks same-game parlay

Montreal is currently leading the CFL in scoring at 33.5 points per game, and Davis' health remains intact, which is the most important element of this offense.

The two high-octane wins have overshadowed the porous Alouettes defense, which has allowed 28.5 points per game and 369.5 passing yards per game (3rd-worst in the CFL).

I expect Montreal to hit the 30-point plateau again, and its defense is porous enough for the Elks to help build the Over.

In the last five head-to-head meetings, Edmonton has scored at least 20 points in four of them
