The Redblacks are trending toward being the worst team in CFL history, and that's not going to change against a fierce Lions defense.

The Ottawa Redblacks attempt to win their first football game in nearly a year when they host the BC Lions at TD Place Stadium in Ottawa on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET (TSN).

With Ottawa losing four straight games by double digits, the CFL odds have BC as a 7.5-point road favorite, and my Lions vs. Redblacks predictions and CFL picks aren't trusting a 0-10 team to keep it close.

Who will win Lions vs Redblacks: Lions -7.5 (-112)

The Ottawa Redblacks are having a historically bad season, but during their 0-6 start, they at least covered the spread three times. Since then, the Redblacks don't even look like they would keep it competitive against the old Ottawa Renegades, who went 23-49 in their four seasons of existence.

Over their last four games, the Redblacks have gone 0-4 ATS, losing by an average margin of 21.2 points. During that stretch, the closest they've lost by is 12 points, and they've allowed 33+ in all four games. Even firing defensive coordinator Will Fields after giving up 34 to the Montreal Alouettes, the Grey Cup odds favorites, solved nothing.

In the three games since firing Fields, Ottawa is allowing 40.3 PPG. So, Nathan Rourke and the BC Lions should have no trouble putting 30+ points on the Redblacks.

Given Ottawa's struggles, they'd be lucky to score 20+ on this Lions defense, which is why I'd take BC to cover a spread as large as -9.5.

Lions vs Redblacks total prediction: Under 60.5 (-108)

The Lions might be able to score 40 points and still have this Under hit, though I don't think Rourke and Co. will put that many points on the board with weather expected to be a factor.

Ottawa is averaging just 17.5 PPG over its last four games, and since July 3, the Redblacks have scored more than 22 points just once — they've scored fewer than 20 in three of their last six.

The Lions' defense has been among the best in the league this season, allowing the fewest yards per game (346.6) and the third-fewest PPG (26.7). It's been even better in the back half of the season, giving up only 22 PPG over their last seven games.

With Ottawa's offensive woes, the Under is worth considering as long as the game total is above 58.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: During Ottawa's 16-game losing streak, it's 3-13 ATS.

Lions vs Redblacks same-game parlay

Few teams have been hotter than BC over the last few weeks. The Lions' defense has allowed just 21.2 PPG in its last four games, which is the biggest reason why they're 3-1 ATS and 3-1 to the Under during that stretch.

It would take Ottawa's offense showing life to keep this game close and have the Over hit, but the Redblacks are averaging a league-low 22.3 PPG.
