The BC Lions have won five straight games and now face the Eastern Division-leading Montreal Alouettes as 3.5-point underdogs on Friday, Sept. 4
My Lions vs. Alouettes predictions and CFL picks expect Nathan Rourke and the Lions’ elite offence to pace BC and turn this into a close, high-scoring thriller at Percival Molson Stadium, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET on TSN.
Who will win Lions vs Alouettes: Lions +3.5 (-108)
Despite a rare stinker from Nathan Rourke in the first half against Ottawa last week, the BC Lions offence continues to move the ball at an elite pace.
BC has produced 33.4 points per game during its current five-game winning streak, and despite the Montreal Alouettes’ 9-2 record, the Als defence was just burned for 447 yards of net offense last week.
Zander Horvath has been an absolute revelation for the Lions’ rushing attack, emerging as RB1 over James Butler and averaging 6.0 yards per carry on the season. He should feast against an Alouettes D that has been fairly middle of the road against the ground game (allowing 5.6 yards per rush), including surrendering 101 rushing yards to Brady Oliveira last week.
I’m all over the Lions and the points, and I’d play them on the moneyline if they move to +190 or beyond.

Lions vs Alouettes total prediction: Over 61.5 (-110)
While the Lions’ offence has been rolling, Als’ pivot Davis Alexander is the runaway favorite for MOP at -230. He leads the league in passing yards, while his WR1, Tyson Philpot, paces the CFL in receiving yards with 1,316 entering Week 14.
Montreal has reached 30+ points in nine of 11 games this season, while BC has done the same in three of four contests since Nathan Rourke returned from a shoulder injury.
The Als and Lions also rank first and second, respectively, in offensive yards per play, and I'd bet the Over to 62.5.
Lions vs Alouettes same-game parlay
BC is 4-1 ATS over its last five games, including covering in two straight as the favorite.
With preseason Grey Cup odds of +320, the Lions aren’t getting enough respect as Buck Pierce’s team continues to re-emerge as a legitimate Grey Cup contender.
Meanwhile, Montreal has topped 61.5 points in three straight games, and facing Rourke & Co. will provide another exciting shootout at Molson Stadium.

Montreal should see mild conditions and cloudy skies on Friday night, but the weather shouldn’t have a major impact on the game or limit either team’s passing attack.
