The Seattle Storm return home from a tough, three-game road trip to host a winless Connecticut Sun group.
The Storm defeated the Sun last week in Uncasville, and my Sun vs. Storm predictions expect the Storm to sneak away with another victory.
Read on for my WNBA picks for Wednesday, May 20.
Suns vs Storm prediction
Suns vs Storm best bet: Storm moneyline (-130)
The Seattle Storm return home Wednesday in a favorable spot against the winless Connecticut Sun, who continue to field one of the league’s worst defenses.
Seattle already beat Connecticut 89-82 on the road earlier this season, and now get the rematch at home.
Even without leading scorer Dominique Malonga, the Storm should find success against a Sun team allowing 95.4 points per game while opponents shoot 51.3% from the field.
Connecticut has also struggled badly to protect the paint, making Seattle a strong outright play at home.

Suns vs Storm same-game parlay
Connecticut and Seattle rank among the WNBA's two fastest teams, with pace marks of 83.40 and 81.63, respectively.
We’ve already mentioned Connecticut's shaky defense, but Seattle isn’t much better. Two fast offenses against two leaky defenses make the Over 167.5 a natural fit.
Natisha Hiedeman steps into a featured scoring role with Malonga sidelined. She dropped 19 points in her last game without her star center; the pace and the Sun's awful defense should do the rest.
Suns vs Storm SGP
- Seattle Storm moneyline
- Over 167.5
- Natisha Hiedeman Over 11.5 points
Suns vs Storm first basket scorer: Brittney Griner (+175)
The Sun usually feed Brittney Griner in the post early and often, and with Connecticut desperately needing offensive momentum against a Seattle team that just handled them on the road, expect the ball to find Griner immediately after she wins the opening tip.
- Best bet: 5-1, +3.66 units
- SGP: 1-5, -2.10 units
- First basket: 1-5, -1.50 units
