Meanwhile, Sky rookie center Kamilla Cardoso missed their previous battle with an injury, and my Sun vs. Sky predictions and WNBA picks expect Cardoso to have a difficult time tonight against the league's top defensive rebounding team when the Sun meet the Sky on Wednesday, June 12.

My analysis
The last time the Connecticut Sun and Chicago Sky met, it was a knock-down drag-out affair that saw Sun forward Alyssa Thomas ejected, and the Sun were happy to sneak out of Wintrust Arena with a four-point victory.
Connecticut hammered Chicago on the boards (38-21) and particularly dominated the offensive glass (16-9). The Sky were missing rookie forward Kamilla Cardoso in that tilt but she’s expected to suit up tonight.
Cardoso plays internationally for Brazil (three games) yet is supposedly a “work in progress.” She has seen an uptick in minutes since Elizabeth Williams was lost to a meniscus tear yet still produces the same rebounding results (5.3 caroms) whether she plays a dozen minutes or the 21 minutes she played against a smaller Indiana Fever squad.
This type of production from Cardoso won’t get the job done tonight. The Sun are the top defensive rebounding team in the game, as their frontcourt of DeWanna Bonner, Brionna Jones, and Thomas are internationally experienced, physical players who live to punish their opponents on the glass and have combined for 15 defensive rebounds a night.
The Sun are a pesky, aggressive defensive rebounding team that will come at Cardoso from all angles. Connecticut guard DiJonai Carrington ranks third on the Sun in defensive boards, and she’ll sneak out of nowhere to steal offensive boards away from opponents like the Sky center. Cardoso is also a bit of a hacker and could see her time limited as she commits more fouls than anyone (19.5).
Cardoso has snagged six rebounds or more only once and her lack of success on the offensive glass (2.5 per game) won’t help her or the Sky much against the best rebounding team in the W.

Cardoso must battle against a tough Connecticut rebounding side as well as her teammate Angel Reese for boards, and that will be difficult.
The Sun win games when Thomas rebounds and drops dimes. She’s failed to score more than 11.5 points in four of her last five, isn’t a great shooter from anywhere, and will be too consumed with battling Reese and Cardosa on the glass to clear her scoring prop number.
Carrington is a sneaky-good rebounder, averaging 5.1 caroms per night. She’s pulled down five or more boards in six of their last 11 matchups, including six rebounds in their last meeting with Chicago.
