Today's best WNBA player props bets

Prop bet #1: Hollywood Hamby

With the Los Angeles Sparks watching last year’s top talents depart, the franchise is looking to former role players to step up in 2024. Dearica Hamby is one of those players ready to make the jump.

Hamby, who averaged just shy of nine points and six rebounds per game for Los Angeles in 2023, looked very strong in the preseason outings. She scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds in just 16 minutes versus Seattle and finished with 21 points and seven boards in 23 minutes against Phoenix.

The 6-foot-3 forward and two-time All-Star will be a big part of Curt Miller’s rotation and has a rebounding prop of 6.5 boards Over/Under for the Sparks’ season opener.

Player projections for Wednesday call for closer to eight rebounds over 28 minutes of floor time. With the Atlanta Dream pushing one of the quicker paces in the WNBA, there will be a surplus of shot attempts — meaning more rebounding opportunities.

Dearica Hamby prop: Over 6.5 rebounds (+105 at bet365)

Prop bet #2: Wind beneath the Wings

The first half of the 2024 WNBA season will be a busy one for Dallas Wings star guard Arike Ogunbowale.

With Satou Sabally out until after the Olympic break, Ogunbowale will shoulder the offensive load for Dallas, creating chances for her teammates.

Last season, the lightning-quick point guard averaged a career-high 4.5 assists. That’s where her assist total for tonight’s opener sits, with books dealing 4.5 O/U on Arike’s dimes.

The Wings were one of the best scoring attacks in the league last season and even with Sabally out, bookies are pegging Dallas with a team total of 84.5 points. Given the near double-digit spread (Wings -9.5), we can expect plenty of points and potential assists.

The Chicago Sky look very different in 2024 with a few mainstays playing elsewhere this spring. The Sky, who allowed the second most assists to opponents last season, are also under a brand-new coach in Teresa Weatherspoon, leaving a steep learning curve early in the schedule.

Player projections sit north of 4.5 assists, with my number coming out to 5.5 helpers from Ogunbowale. That should have the Over 4.5 assists priced closer to -170, however, you can find this same prop paying plus-money on Wednesday morning.

Arike Ogunbowale prop: Over 4.5 assists (+102 at FanDuel)

Prop bet #3: Less action for Jackson

The Sparks built the franchise's foundation during the WNBA Draft, which included the selection of Tennessee star Rickea Jackson as the No. 4 pick.

Jackson came off the bench for Los Angeles in the two preseason games, highlighted by 10 points on 4-for-9 shooting in 20 minutes against Seattle. She followed that with a 1-for-6 day and only two points in 19 minutes versus Phoenix.

Her player props for tonight seem a bit lofty, with books pegging her points total at 13.5 O/U. That’s a big ask for a rookie likely coming off the bench in her debut, given just 29 players averaged 13.5 ppg or more in 2023 (and only one, Aliyah Boston, was a rookie).

Projections call for fewer than 13 points with some sitting around 10 from Jackson, who did the bulk of her damage inside the paint at Tennessee. The Dream finished fourth in defending points in the paint last season and will give the rookie a dose of WNBA physicality in her pro debut.

Rickea Jackson prop: Under 13.5 points (-115 at bet365)
