After getting crushed in the Commissioner’s Cup Final, the Minnesota Lynx open a four-game homestand on Thursday against the Washington Mystics.

Washington is the one of two teams to drop an "L" on the WNBA-leading Lynx, but books have them as 11.5-point underdogs in the WNBA odds.

With Minnesota’s star player Napheesa Collier available for this matchup, my Mystics vs. Lynx predictions and WNBA picks have the home team taking care of business.

Mystics vs Lynx predictions

My Mystics vs Lynx best bet: Lynx -11.5 (-112 at FanDuel)

While the 74-59 loss to the Indiana Fever in the Commissioner's Cup Final didn’t count in the standings, it stands as the worst beating the Minnesota Lynx have taken on the season.

Couple that with the Washington Mystics upending Minnesota 68-64 in D.C. on June 24, and the Lynx are facing adversity they’ve yet to see in a season where they are currently 14-2.

A back injury forced Napheesa Collier out of action last time against Washington, but the team’s leading scorer (24.4 points) and rebounder (8.5 rpg) is a go for Thursday.

The Lynx are a perfect 8-0 at home this season, with a point differential of +11.2. The high point spread shouldn’t be a deterrent here: Minnesota is 5-0 against the spread in its last five as a favorite of 11.5 points or greater.

Minnesota has won seven of the last nine head-to-head matchups, including four straight at Target Center.

While the Mystics have covered four of the last six, including each of the last two, the Lynx have the stinging loss to Indiana and a rematch with Washington as fuel to use for a big bounceback.

Mystics vs Lynx same-game parlay (SGP)

Lynx -11.5

Napheesa Collier Over 21.5 points

Kayla McBride Under 14.5 points

Collier is coming off just her fourth sub-20 point scoring game of the season, going for 12 points on 6-for-18 shooting against Indiana.

However, the previous three times, Collier bounced back with at least 24 points the next game, something that should happen here again vs. Washington.

But Collier taking care of business might affect Kayla McBride, who scored just seven points in the loss to Indiana.

She also had seven in the loss to the Mystics, and has scored in single-digits in four of the last seven games. We’ll take the Under for her on Thursday.
