Mystics vs Fever Predictions, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

Injuries are suddenly beginning to mount for the Fever. That puts more of the scoring burden on Kelsey Mitchell, and our WNBA betting picks believe she'll answer the call vs. the Mystics on Tuesday night.

Caitlin Clark’s injury has become a big problem for the Indiana Fever, which has now been compounded with other injuries in the backcourt.

On top of missing Clark for tonight’s tilt with the Washington Mystics, Indiana will be without guard Sophie Cunningham, and backup guard Sydney Colson is expected to play through a leg injury.

That puts a lot of weight on Kelsey Mitchell’s shoulders Tuesday. She’s the focus of my best Mystics vs. Fever predictions and WNBA picks for June 3.

Will Caitlin Clark play tonight?

Caitlin Clark is not expected to play against Washington on Tuesday. However, the Fever’s superstar did return to practice on Monday, and that’s a good sign she is getting close to coming back.

Indiana is 0-2 SU and ATS in the first two games without Clark in the lineup, losing both matchups as point spread favorites — including an 83-77 defeat at Washington as a 4-point road fave on May 28.

Mystics vs Fever predictions

My Mystics vs Fever best bet: Kelsey Mitchell Over 16.5 points (-130 at Pinnacle)

Kelsey Mitchell was called upon to step up in Caitlin Clark’s absence but has come up short of those expectations, putting up just 13 and 14 points in those two games while shooting a collective 25.8% in losses to Connecticut and Washington.

Those poor performances aren’t lost on Mitchell, who started the season off strong (17.8 ppg first four games) and averaged more than 19 points per game in 2024.

"Oh, man, I better be getting my shit together, that’s what I tell you,” Mitchell told the media. “I think that for me, the more games that you get under your belt, the more, you know, you just got to keep finding the rhythm.”

With the backcourt running thin, the Indiana Fever brought in veteran point guard Aari McDonald on emergency hardship exception contract this week. Mitchell can still play off the ball and should see a ton of touches and field goal attempts tonight.

Projections for Mitchell sit north of 17 points with some models flirting with 18 points, which is a conservative take considering she’s the go-to option on the perimeter and the motor of this Fever fastbreak.

Mitchell struggled in D.C. last week, scoring 14 points on 4-for-16 shooting, including going 2 for 7 from beyond the arc. That was the Fever’s first taste of life without Clark on the floor.

The team has been off since Friday, with time to tighten the bolts in practice, and Mitchell loves playing at home, averaging three points more per game than on the road (18.1 vs. 15.2 ppg).

Her points props are all over the place. The market ranges from Over 16.5 -130 to Over 18.5 -120. I’ll shop for the low side of that total with Mitchell’s ceiling sitting much higher due to the state of the Fever backcourt.

Mystics vs Fever same-game parlay (SGP)

Kelsey Mitchell 20+ points

Brittney Sykes 20+ points

Aliyah Boston 7+ rebounds

Mitchell’s projections sit just shy of 18 points and with Clark and Cunningham out and Colson playing on a bad leg, her ceiling is much higher for tonight.

Brittney Sykes is forecasted for 19 points and faces a thin Indiana backcourt with just three healthy guards.

Aliyah Boston battled a tough Washington Mystics frontcourt and must keep their bigs off the glass. She hauled in seven rebounds against the Mystics last week and is forecasted for as many as 10.4 boards tonight.
