Chicago @ Minnesota preview

Target Field

Last Meeting ( Aug 6, 2011 ) Chi. White Sox 6, Minnesota 1

THE STORY: The Chicago White Sox have clinched their first series win against the Minnesota Twins since 2009. They have their sights set on their first sweep since taking three at Boston from May 30-June 1 as they take on the host Twins in the finale of their three-game series Sunday. Chicago lost six in a row before winning two straight against Minnesota for the first time since 2007. The Twins have lost six of their last seven games and are 0-4-2 in their last six series.

TV: 2:10 p.m. ET, WGN (Chicago), FS North (Minnesota)

PITCHING MATCHUP: White Sox RH Jake Peavy (4-5, 5.13 ERA) vs. Twins LH Brian Duensing (8-9, 4.50).

Peavy pitched well against New York on Monday, allowing three runs in seven innings, but still fell to 0-4 with a 6.11 ERA over his last six starts. Prior to the swoon, the former National League Cy Young Award winner had gone 4-1 in his first seven outings this season. Peavy lost his only career decision against Minnesota on July 10 after yielding five runs in 4 1/3 innings. Duensing is coming off a loss at Los Angeles on Tuesday in which he surrendered five runs in six innings. The 28-year-old had his four-game home winning streak snapped by Detroit on July 22, when he was tagged for seven runs in 4 2/3 innings. Duensing has had great success against Chicago during his career, going 4-0 with a 2.51 ERA in 11 games, including five starts.

ABOUT THE TWINS (51-62):
Justin Morneau appeared in his first rehab game Friday since undergoing neck surgery June 29. Morneau played seven innings at first base for Triple A Rochester and went 0-for-4. He played nine innings at first Saturday and went 1-for-4. Alexi Casilla, who is sidelined with a strained right hamstring, took batting practice Saturday for the second straight day and is likely to be activated from the disabled list Friday.

ABOUT THE WHITE SOX (54-58):
The series win is Chicago's first in Minnesota since 2007. Carlos Quentin, who got Saturday night off after hitting two homers and driving in four runs in the series opener, has fared well against Duensing, going 7-for-15 (.467) with three blasts and six RBIs. Sergio Santos remained perfect away from home Saturday as he made his 22nd straight scoreless road appearance to start the season. His overall 27-game road scoreless streak is the longest in the major leagues since Russ Springer also had a 27-game run in 2008.

FINAL PITCH:
"Everything went good. He had a couple of good at-bats and hit the ball hard. But it's going to be a process. We'll go from there. He feels good." -- Twins manager Ron Gardenhire, on Morneau.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
