Last Meeting ( Jul 8, 2011 ) Toronto 11, Cleveland 7
THE STORY: The Toronto Blue Jays hope to build off the momentum of Friday's 11-7 victory in Cleveland when they meet the Indians in the third game of their series on Saturday night. Not only did the Blue Jays break a three-game losing streak, they rebounded from a stunning 5-4 loss on Thursday in which they failed to hold a 4-0 lead in the ninth inning and lost on Travis Hafner's walkoff grand slam. Travis Snider drove in five runs and Rajai Davis had four RBIs while Toronto's bullpen closed out Friday's win. The defeat cut Cleveland's lead over Detroit in the American League Central to one-half game.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Indians RH Josh Tomlin (10-4, 3.78 ERA) vs. Blue Jays RH Brandon Morrow (5-4, 4.72).
Tomlin shut down the mighty Yankees on Monday. He took a no-hitter into the seventh before allowing two runs and three hits. Tomlin, who relies on location and disrupting hitters' timing, beat the Blue Jays on June 1 in Toronto. Staked to a 12-0 lead, he allowed three-run homers in the fifth and sixth to inflate his pitching line. Morrow has won three consecutive decisions and is over .500 for the first time this season. He beat the Red Sox in his last start, allowing four runs and working into the sixth inning. The hard-throwing Morrow lost to the Indians on May 31 in Toronto, giving up six runs and nine hits in five innings. He is 1-3 with a 5.96 ERA in nine appearances against Cleveland.
ABOUT THE INDIANS (47-40): Despite Friday's loss, the night wasn't a total waste for the Indians. Top prospect Lonnie Chisenhall, who was hit in the face by a pitch Thursday, might not miss an extended period of time. He broke a small nasal bone and may only miss a few games. The Indians feared the worst because Chisenhall suffered a concussion a few weeks ago playing in the minors, but all those tests came back clean. Jack Hannahan will take over at third base until the All-Star break. The Indians hope Chisenhall, their best young position player, will return soon after the break.
ABOUT THE BLUE JAYS (43-47): Talk about getting off the mat. That's exactly what the Blue Jays did Friday. Winning after Thursday's crushing loss is something the club, which had dropped seven of 10, desperately needed. The Blue Jays are playing their third straight series against a team that is leading its division and are 3-5 in this stretch. Toronto lost two of three to Philadelphia and Boston, but had a chance to win each game, suffering two one-run losses and a pair of two-run losses.
FINAL PITCH: Frank Francisco, who didn't retire a batter in the ninth inning Thursday, has lost his closer's job for the second time this season. Blue Jays manager John Farrell has decided to switch to Jon Rauch.
