Seattle @ Oakland preview

Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

Last Meeting ( Jun 23, 2013 ) Oakland 3, Seattle 6

Jarrod Parker attempts to extend a 14-start unbeaten streak and perhaps receive some offensive support when the Oakland Athletics open a three-game series against the visiting Seattle Mariners on Monday. The Athletics have scored four runs or fewer in 10 of the 14 outings, a stretch in which the 22-year-old Parker has limited opposing hitters to a .199 average. Seattle won two of three from Texas, including a 4-3 decision on Sunday.

Kyle Seager delivered the tiebreaking double in the ninth inning on Sunday and had two homers and five RBIs in the series against the Rangers, but is batting .222 with no homers in 13 games versus Oakland this season. Seattle’s victory helped the Athletics move within a half-game of Texas in the American League West. Oakland also has a three-game lead over the Baltimore for the second wild-card spot.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
