Liverpool trails Manchester City by a single point in the standings. This could be a tighter contest than some odds expect, but most curious is how Mohamed Salah is available at plus money to score. Is it a trap? Our betting picks investigate.

Saturday’s early kickoff in the Premier League is a game you won’t want to miss with Manchester City vs. Liverpool being a huge matchup. The hosts are top of the Premier League table, just one point ahead of visiting Liverpool. This is going to be a tough game for both sides and they won’t want to lose and hand the other team momentum in the title race.

So who comes out on top? Will it be Pep Guardiola’s team or that of Jurgen Klopp?

Don’t miss our Man City vs Liverpool tips and predictions to find out.

Man City vs Liverpool best odds

EPL predictions for Man City vs Liverpool

After two weeks without Premier League action, we’re being treated to some quality games this weekend, starting with an absolute monster between Manchester City and Liverpool on Saturday. The teams are first and second in the Premier League with Man City leading Liverpool, and Arsenal, by a single point. That means this game is on a knife edge and despite it only being November this game could have a huge impact on the destination of the Premier League title this year.

A lot has been said about Man City winning the title this season, as well as Arsenal and Spurs, but it feels like Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side have gone under the radar. If they are able to leave the Etihad with three points then it certainly won’t be the case going forward but the big question is will they?

I can’t promise a Liverpool win but my best bet is for Mohamed Salah to score at a vaunted +210 price. I actually was so shocked when I saw the odds that I had to do a double-take and check again.

This Man City defense is talented, we know that, but they’ve still allowed 12 goals — two more than Liverpool — and are averaging a goal conceded per game, so it’s not as if they’re impossible to score against.

Salah’s brilliance seems to have avoided the headlines so far this season. The "Egyptian King" has been absolutely sensational and has scored 10 goals in just 12 games. He's playing at the peak of his power and to have already bagged double-digit goals in the Premier League is phenomenal. He’s one of only two players to have done that this season (more on that later) and we can’t talk enough about how good Salah is playing even at the advanced age of 31.

Last season was a down year for Salah with him managing just 19 goals, but he’s well on track to beat that this year, which shows that not only is class permanent, but also that Klopp’s additions in midfield have also helped build a platform on which Liverpool’s attack can thrive.

Odds of +210 imply a 32.3% chance Salah will score. Considering he’s already scored 10 goals in 12 games, that simply doesn’t seem right. So regardless of the opposition and the occasion, I think you simply have to consider backing Salah to score at that price because of the sheer value attached.

My best bet: Mohamed Salah anytime goal (+210 at TonyBet)

Man City vs Liverpool same-game parlay

Mohamed Salah to score

Erling Haaland to score

Draw

As always, we will start with our best bet for the game, which is for Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah to get on the scoresheet against Pep Guardiola’s Man City team. He’s in great form and has already hit double-digit goals this season. With Liverpool playing well, he has a very good chance at more.

Next up, we’re looking at the other team and their top scorer Erling Haaland. Salah’s 10 Premier League goals this season have only been bettered by one man, Erling Haaland, who already has 13, an average of more than one per game. We know Haaland delivers goals and there’s nobody else on the City team who is more likely.

We end our SGP with the leg that is giving it big +1800 odds: the draw. It’s genuinely hard to pick a winner here. Man City haven’t quite hit the heights we saw at times last season and the lack of Kevin De Bruyne is a big loss.

Meanwhile, with the likes of Andy Robertson missing, there will be defensive issues for Liverpool. A draw makes sense given the quality of both teams and I feel both managers would take a draw if possible, a result that would ensure neither comes under significant pressure to stay in the Premier League title race.

Man City vs Liverpool side and Over/Under analysis

You’re getting -149 on Man City to win, which feels far too short with City just one point ahead of Liverpool. The +335 on Liverpool feels like a far better value play with these teams closer than the odds would suggest. I think the +325 on the draw is the best play of all though, as mentioned above it’s a result that works for both teams and I could easily see them canceling each other out.

Over 2.5 goals comes in at -220, perhaps unsurprisingly, with the Under at +160. In a vacuum, I’d take the Over but I don’t think it’s worth playing at those odds.
