Liverpool’s Jeremie Frimpong picked up an injury in Tuesday’s Netherlands game against Ecuador and was substituted at halftime, and he looks unlikely to be able to start this game, meaning Joe Gomez will slot in at right back.

Gomez has committed an average of 1.63 fouls per 90 minutes played. He’ll be matched up opposite Jeremy Doku, with the Belgian a magnet for fouls, winning 2.92 fouls per 90 minutes played, the most on the Man City roster.

We saw Arsenal’s Ben White booked when matched up against Doku in City’s last game.

Man City to win

Antoine Semenyo 1+ shots on target

Liverpool Under 11.5 shots

Man City have a great record in cup competitions under Pep Guardiola and beat Arsenal 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final last month, and they’ve only lost two of their previous 15 games in all competitions. City have also beaten Liverpool 2-1 and 3-0 in their two meetings this season.

Antoine Semenyo has been excellent since arriving at Man City in January and has averaged 1.02 shots on target per 90 minutes in the league, becoming a key part of City’s attack.

Only Arsenal have allowed fewer shots per game than City in the league this season, with Guardiola’s team only allowing 9.8 shots per game. They held Arsenal to just seven shots in the Carabao Cup final in March.
