After a week off for an international break, the MLS campaign resumes with plenty of intriguing matchups.
All 30 teams will be in action on Saturday, headlined by a Cascadia Cup match between the Vancouver Whitecaps and the Portland Timbers.
However, the biggest match of the weekend could be the tilt between the San Jose Earthquakes and San Diego FC.
Read on for our MLS predictions and free betting picks for Week 6 of the campaign.

Toronto FC vs
Colorado Rapids
Pick: Draw (+260)
Toronto are unbeaten in nine straight home matches going back to last summer, but six of those have been draws. The Rapids are playing well to start this season, and I like them to get a result in another draw north of the border.
New England Revolution vs
CF Montreal
Pick: Draw (+260)
Neither of these teams are very good, but both have shown flashes at times this season. I can’t trust either side, so I’ll go with another stalemate.
Real Salt Lake vs
Sporting Kansas City
Pick: Real Salt Lake (-227)
The youth movement is providing early returns for Real Salt Lake, with Aiden Hezarkhani and Zavier Gozo turning some heads. The team as a whole made a statement with a 2-2 draw last time out at San Diego, and they’ll take care of an overmatched Sporting side.
Atlanta United FC vs
Columbus Crew SC
Pick: Atlanta United (+187)
The improvements may not be happening as fast as some Five Stripes fans would hope, but the signs are there for Atlanta. I’ll back them to get a win against a Columbus side off to the worst start in club history.
Charlotte FC vs
Philadelphia Union
Pick: Pick (+115)
I’m sorry, but I’m getting plus-odds with Charlotte, at home, against a Philadelphia side that has looked horrific since the season began? It feels like a trap, but I’ll gladly bite.
D.C. United vs
FC Dallas
Pick: Draw (+240)
Dallas has been in five extremely tight matches this season, drawing twice and nearly doing so again the last time out. DC United is struggling to score goals but are hard to break down defensively. This will be a low-scoring draw.
New York Red Bulls vs
FC Cincinnati
Pick: Draw (+270)
The Red Bulls have been outscored 10-2 over their last three matches, while Cincinnati has conceded 10 goals in their last three and will be without Miles Robinson. There’s not a result here that would surprise me, so I’ll take the value on a draw.
New York City FC vs
St. Louis CITY SC
Pick: NYCFC (-139)
NYCFC are the more talented side, but this could be a close one, given how many players went out on international duty. That said, until St. Louis City prove they can score a goal versus a good side, I’m definitely not betting on them to get a result against one.
Inter Miami FC vs
Austin FC
Pick: Inter Miami (-278)
Lionel Messi and company open the Nu Stadium for the first time, and that atmosphere is going to be tremendous. It’s going to be a rough night for an Austin side that has lost both road matches this season.
Chicago Fire vs
Nashville SC
Pick: Nashville (+190)
This is the best value of the weekend. There’s absolutely no reason Nashville should be getting plus odds in my opinion, especially with how many players went on international duty for Chicago. Take this line and run.
Houston Dynamo vs
Seattle Sounders FC
Pick: Seattle (+170)
Houston aren't defending well, and Seattle’s not allowing teams to score. They’ve conceded just two goals all season, and they’ll do enough to sneak out with a hard-fought win.
LAFC vs
Orlando City SC
Pick: LAFC (-312)
LAFC can probably name their score in this one. This Orlando team has conceded four or more goals in three of their last four and may do so again Saturday.
LA Galaxy vs
Minnesota United FC
Pick: LA Galaxy (-111)
Neither of these teams are any good right now, but at least the Galaxy can score once in a while. James Rodriguez will miss after being hospitalized earlier this week with dehydration, and that’ll cost them their shot.
San Jose Earthquakes vs
San Diego FC
Pick: Draw (+260)
I will be tuned in for this one. Timo Werner is already clicking for San Jose and was part of an impressive win over Vancouver. San Diego are playing quite well, and are a Top 5 club in MLS right now as far as I’m concerned. This should be a terrific showdown with no clear winner.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs
Portland Timbers
Pick: Vancouver (-286)
Definitely leery of these odds in a Cascadia Cup match, but Portland’s defense is riddled with injuries. The Whitecaps attack should have an easy time of it.
