The third round of the FA Cup gets underway on Thursday with Crystal Palace and Everton looking to kickstart a cup run in this all-Premier League clash.

Palace are coming off a much-needed 3-1 win over Brentford on Saturday that took some of the pressure off boss Roy Hodgson, but two-goal hero Michael Olise limped off with a hamstring injury in that victory and he’s sidelined here.

Meanwhile, the Everton revival has wobbled in recent weeks, and their 3-0 setback at Wolves at the weekend was the Toffees’ third straight loss.

Read on for our free betting picks for Crystal Palace vs. Everton ahead of this January 4 showdown.

Crystal Palace vs Everton picks and predictions

Coming off a jam-packed December schedule, it’s fair to assume that both teams may ring the changes for this FA Cup clash — and Sean Dyche even pointed to the congested fixture list when looking ahead to this matchup.

That sets the stage for a disjointed, cagey matchup with a shortage of quality chances.

Though these teams served up a thriller back in November, I’m expecting a very different script here. With neither club showing enough consistency in attack, I like the Under on 2.5 total goals.

For a start, only Luton and Sheffield United have scored fewer goals than Palace’s tally of 22 in the Premier League this season, and Everton have been just marginally better with 24 goals.

Then there’s the absence of the dynamic Olise for the Eagles and the likelihood that Everton will shuffle the deck after the tired performance against Wolves.

In wet conditions at Selhurst Park, this feels like a low-scoring scrap between two teams who’ve got to make Premier League survival their top priority.

My best bet: Under 2.5 (-130 at TonyBet)

Crystal Palace vs Everton same-game parlay

Under 2.5

Eberechi Eze anytime scorer

Over 2.5 cards

If anyone is going to open the game up, it’s Eberechi Eze, Palace’s dynamic midfield playmaker, who scored the hosts’ second goal on Saturday. With Olise out, Eze is the No. 1 danger man for the Eagles and could also handle penalty-taking duties.

There may not be a lot of scoring chances on Thursday, but I like the odds for Eze to get on the scoresheet.

There should be plenty of physicality here, especially if fringe players are fighting to make an impression, and that makes the Over on 2.5 cards an appealing prop.

The Toffees had three yellow cards at the weekend and four bookings in their prior outing against Man City.

Crystal Palace vs Everton side and Over/Under analysis

Palace enter as slight favorites and life looks rosier for the Eagles after getting back on track at the weekend with their first win in nine games, but the moneyline for either team feels like a bit of a dice roll on Thursday with so much potential for squad rotation.

The hosts haven’t exactly made the most of a home-field advantage this season, collecting just nine points from 10 league games at Selhurst Park, while Everton’s road form has been a big part of their surge in the wake of their 10-point penalty.

The Toffees won’t be fazed by the trip to London after taking 16 points on their travels already this season, and the distraction of a cup competition could be coming at a good time for the visitors are a rough stretch in the league.

These teams served up a thriller in November, with Everton snatching a 3-2 win, but I see this rematch being tighter, especially if both teams turn to more fringe players than usual.

The Toffees didn’t have a single shot on target in the loss to Wolves, and I’m not convinced that either club has the depth to deliver a goal-fest with rejigged lineups.
