    YTD: 29-18  +14.7u

Thunderbirds to win it $5.40  1u
Vixens to win it $2.10  2u
I think there is a decent chance that the Thunderbirds could finish in second ahead of the Magic, which if they do Magic would have to win two away finals to win it. This can happen due to % or Thunderbirds winning more games.

    Thunderbirds have:
    - Pulse home
    - Steel away
    - Magic home

They are arguably the hottest team i the comp at the moment winning there last three by an average of 20+. I can't see the Magic beating them in Adelaide. Steel away is a tough game, but I think they should be favourite by a few goals given wipiti is out and the thunderbirds handled the tactix in their other game in NZ.

    Magic have:
    - Tactix home
    - Fever away
    - Thundrebirds away

Fever away means best NZ team versus worst Australian team so the best chance for the hoodoo to be broken. However, this is far from a certainty IMO given how terrible the Magic were in their other game in Australia v Firebirds and how the Fever mauled the second best NZ team by 11.

If Tbirds win all 3 and Magic win two they will be equal on wins. Magic currently have the better % but tbirds should fix that today against the Pulse.

    $5+ seems value to me.

    Mystics v Vixens under 101  1u
Mystics have not been able to score against the other top defensive teams the Magic and Thunderbirds getting 38, 35 and 34.

Vixens performance in NZ against the Magic was poor so my feeling is that they will not win this one huge, maybe somethinglike 53-40.

    Thunderbirds -24  1.5u
Thunderbirds have beaten better sides by around 20 in the past three weeks.

Pulse lost by 28, 29 and 25 in Australia last year, arguably to teams not playing as well as the tbirds are now.

well wipiti is out and new player is expected to play.

i think it is a reasonable number, without Wipiti i think steal will be lucky to get 40.

firebirds v magic only came to 95.

thanks. i had written that one off several times.

the game was prime evidence that the major difference between countries is fitness. when fresh in the first and third Pulse actually won the quarters then when they get tired in the second and fourth they got mauled+.

    TB   P
    11    12
    20     5
    15    17
    24     6

It is actually very noticeable for many players if you look for it. NZ players breathing heavy, Australian players strutting.

The rough maths i did on the tbirds % was way off, they are still well behind the magic despite winning by 30.

    Vixens +8.5   1u
Sydney have been 7 goals plus worse on average at home versus away, against the other three Australian teams they have played twice:

    Vixens: H L11  A L2
    Thunderbirds: H L9  A L1
    Firebirds: H L4 A L1

Small number of games to go off, but the small away loss to the Fever fits the pattern.

Their ability to stop teams scoring has been non existent. Fever's problems have come against the strong defensive teams the vixens and thunderbirds who force them into a lot of turnovers.

Fever's road form has been pretty decent.

Swift's have looked better in recent weeks, but they have lost six games in a row.

Sydney have been 7 goals plus worse on average at home versus away, against the other three Australian teams they have played twice:

    Vixens: H L11  A L2
    Thunderbirds: H L9  A L1
    Firebirds: H L4 A L1

Hadn't really looked at this afternoon's game but that's a nice angle on the Fever +. Swifts have played "grand finals" on consecutive weeks now against the Firebirds and Vixens, there doesn't appear to be a lot of reason for them to get upbeat about a meaningless game against the lowly Fever.

I guess on the flipside, a game AGAINST the Swifts is a big deal for every other team in the competition.

i was tempted by the under but i am thinking fever could score 55+ if they play well.

swifts have given up 59 goals a game in regular over their last 4.

54 each in regular time last time they played with the sydney shooters below their average shooting %.

i think i will leave it alone.

firebirds v magic only came to 95.

Of course. And after raising THAT VERY point last weekend, dingbat of the day award goes to me

Makes that +7 goal hcp look skinny for a side that, even WITH Wipiiti, sucks in Australia.

JT you were right about the game meaning more to the fever, after the game ms bolton declared the win made the swifts the worst team in australia and the fever not with a whoot.

    Magic v Tactix under 99.5  1.5u
Tactix did well at home against the magic last time only going down by 2. I think this was more a poor performance by the magic before they got their act together and have played well over their last 5 games.

Magic defenders are a tough match up for tactix shooters for mine. also mkloma could be van dyk's toughest matchup of anyone, last week playing a major part in keeping ms aiken to only 37 attempts compared to 61 and 56 the two previous weeks. her height and leap makes it more dificult for teams to throw the long ball and speed up scoring.

In their lsat four games against NZ sides Magic have given up 35, 39, 35 and 36 allthough two of these were against the pulse.

Tactix have only been over this number 3 times all season against the firebirds and swifts, plus scraping over in a 100 point game with the steel.

some chance the magic will score 55+ sending it over but i am betting against it.

    Firebirds -7.5  2u
    - Steel have never got within 10 in Australia.
    - Wipiti arguably their best player is out
    - the replacement has never played with them before
    - decent team but lack top quality players
    - no decent matchup for aiken
    - looked terrible last two weeks

Firebirds are a lot better team for mine and hopefully they will play for a big win as they are a game and % behind at the moment.

All over the Firebirds too. Haven't been near a computer all day and cannot believe that I can still get them -7.5, really expected the line to jump up a goal or two.

gl bio, and jive... after doing abit of research, i think i will leave magic game alone. my head is saying over for this game. im seeing magic scoring high 50's-60s.  anyway

i like the firebirds play- key motivation win and make finals. Steel without wikipiti is unknown territory for them and make take time for new girl dehn to play alongside wilkins.

magic under . magic 50-46  well done mate. i thought tactix were fantastic, really pressured magic all over the court, maybe abit unlucky not to win in the end.some costly turnovers. magic forwards van dyke and tutaia didnt like the rough house treatment from tactix mkoloma and kight. ok lets go FIREBIRDS

i reckon mkloma would be close to the least liked player in the league, she niggles constantly. umpires can't handle her either.

tactix had losses by 1, 1 , 2, 2 ,4 and 4 if they had won a couple of those early and got their confidence up they could have been amongst it.

yeh u may be rite jive. this game is like a finals for both teams. steel playing out of there skin. bad shooting by the birds , so 36/48 compare 34/39. main culprit aitken shooting 33/42 79%.
