I'll give you this for a Auburn fan...good information.  1989?  Whose living in the past now?  Fact....the BETTER team has won this game 29 out of 31 times.  See Auburn's 6 wins in a row under Tubby.  Bama is the better team now and it will show Friday.  Week off...doesn't really matter here.  You are down to somewhere around 75 players on scholy...best CB hurt and might not play and your D just plain stinks.  Yeah crowd will be up for game and that will help for the first 3 series of the game.  Bama goes up by 14 and Auburn fans start worring about the next bourbon and coke. Saban has this team too focused and finsihing has been his key point for 3 years.  If we want to compare years, I think you might want to look at 1999 game.  Bama comes in...wins and takes SEC championship.

Alpha, what three games are you calling upsets? I can think of 3 Auburn upsets off the top of my head:

Lots of great stats and details, trackem.  Thanks for the research.  There are just three small items you missed:

1)  Alabama has better players.

2)  Alabama has better coaches.

3)  Alabama will kick Auburn's ass.

No quarrel with this being a great rivalry. I will be betting Alabama and laying the points.

 I remember about 1959 (or so, maybe later) when Arkansas beat Texas for the first time in about 6 years.  I think they played in Fayetteville.  I was living and working in Little Rock at the time.  The streets of Little Rock were crowded after the game for several hours.  People were yelling, waving and blowing their car horns.  I have never seen such a celebration.

Yea but Auburn gave Bama all they wanted in that game in 99 and were up 14-6..

Yep it is a big time rivalry, 2nd only to Nebraska/Oklahoma IMO....This is a contest fueled by hate year in and year out.

Those are the 3 I am refering to yet the Punt Bama Punt game Auburn only had 1 loss going into the game!!!  Not really an upset....'89 first time in Auburn....I would have taken Auburn all day long and 2002...the day I lost a load beating Bama...Bama by 10 and Fran had made a deal with A&M...3rd string RB from Auburn scored 3 TDs and ran for 200 yds.

I am taking Over 46 for 2 units.

Alabama can put up 48 on their own.
Alabama can probably score at will. 
Alabama might to get some style points on Nat TV (yes, I know Saban doesn't run up the score like Myer)
Auburn will be pulling out all the stops, maybe trick plays.
Trick plays lead to points, sometimes for the other team.


Don't be surprised if you Bama bet is not in hand until very late in the game, if at all. Trooper Taylor tonight. He said the team was fired up. I will be back to gloat Auburn's victory Friday night.

The entire state is in a frenzy.  Super big game, its talked about every day of every year.  No question about it - it is the biggest rivalry in football.  People will miss work, fights will break out in the stands and all over the state, some real crazy shit!
